Perceived Value is a two way street gents. Why do some guys keep believing only sellers set the market and throw out the reality of supply and demand.

Bottom line is if no one wants it...it's worth NOTHING! Regardless of seller delusions of thier great rising asset/liability - house or car.

Just drive it enjoy it and if someone offers you a what you feel is a fair price take it.

I clicked on that eBay listing when I first saw it. I figured there had to be something special like it was owned by Elvis, Marilyn Monroe and James Dean. I agree that Testarossas are relatively inexpensive, but I think this one is a little ahead of the market...

I am in the market for a Ferrari and the Testarossa is on my short list (also looking at a 360/430).

The car is also near the bottom of its depreciation curve because it is too new to be a classic and to old to be modern. In addition, many were produced.

It appears to me that I will end up with about 70k in a fully sorted example. There are some for sale at less than 40k, but they appear to have issues with deferred maintenance and there may be other issues with engine compression, differential, etc.. You could end up with more than 70k in one of these "cheap" cars. Then again, a 40k Testarossa is near parts car price. I am tempted to take a chance on one since I have the tools and skill to do a lot myself. If it doesn't work out, needs a new gearbox for example, I am not out much money.

A 170k Testarossa would have to be something super special. This one is not.

We're a funny lot. We complain they're too cheap; complain when they're too expensive.

I hope he gets a 'lowball' offer of only $120k and accepts.
