Just recommissioning my 348 for some re-use (bought 993 a few years back so have put lots of effort, money and attention into that of late).

My 348 still has its original 1991 Bridgestones fitted so they are a little crusty to say the least. I'm finding the available tyre choice seems very limited for 'standard' size combos. Many of the main UK tyre sites dont even seem to list a front/rear combo in standard 348 sizes for the speed range required, so I'm interested in what tyres the UK community have been able to obtain.

    Hi Dave,

I currently have Bridgestone Expedia that match front and back.
I had 348 wheels on my mondial too and I bought Continental Contact Sport which were also matching front and back.
Both the above being the correct spec for the 348.

    Cheers.

Thanks Peter, what size and exact model Expedia's?

Tire rack.com site comes up with no front/rear matching set options available when I put in exact vehicle make and model and search against Bridgestone?

Tire rack UK site doesn't list as far back as the 348 in its dropdown.

Mytyres doesn't list as far back as the 348 in its dropdown.

Black circles doesn't list any fronts at all in the size required and doesn't list any Bridgestones in the rear size.

Hi Dave I will take a look for you tomorrow when I'm home. It had the Expedias when I bought it so I will double check they all match. For sure I know the Continental Contact Sport definitely matched because I bought them from new.
    I'm curious too now:)

    Hi Dave,
I can confirm that I do have Bridgestone Expedia S01 tyres matching front and back. I have attached a photo of the inner door frame tyre sticker that recommends Bridgestone and also shows the tyre pressure to use.

    Front 215/50 ZR 17
    Rear 255/45 ZR 17

Also Continental Contact Sport 3 do a matching set of the exact same sizes.

    Hope that helps.

Pic of my front tyre. Tight space in the garage:)
You can just make out the word Expedia at the bottom.
Maybe they stopped making them now? Did you check the official Bridgestone website?

    Thanks once again Peter.

I checked the bridgestone site and couldn't see the Expedia in the size we have for fronts on the 348 so perhaps no longer available. Back to the drawing board, when I get time I'll toddle along to my daily driver tyre supplier and see what they come up with.

    Hi Dave,

I know that Continental Contact Sport 3 do matching tyres as well for the 348. I bought a set 2 years ago when i had my Mondial which i i bought 348 wheels for.

Pirelli P Zero are also recommended in the owner handbooks but not on the door sticker strangely enough:)

Thanks, looks like it may have to be Continentals then, I'll do some googling.

Ive got S01 on mine and did a bit of digging last year. They stopped the expedia s01 in 2012 for the front unfortunately. Stock has been available but now looks like its been exhausted. Continental s seem to be an option, or pirrelli pzeros (this option will set you back over a grand!).
