I remember your car for sale Phil after i bought my first BBi. Another sale recently was Foskers 79 512BB with 40k miles sold for about the 50k sterling mark. They have taken quite a spike lately. Steve
As I'm sure you know, prices are rising on this side too! Hopefully it's not just a bubble. I'm not selling mine anytime soon, but makes me wonder if I should put it back to completely original configuration, ie BB mirrors and black bottom boxer trim. Although I doubt these two items would detract all that much. More likely my problem will be high mileage as I love driving the thing!
Many new books on Ferrari I have glanced at have given the Boxers praise and attention so more enthusiests are aware of how special they are in Ferrari history. One new book quoted Scagiletti mentioning it was Ferraris and his companys last totally hand made Ferrari which makes them very special, Sr. Pininfarina also gives the Boxer much praise also for its design and place in Ferrari history.
jeff, i have also seen that scaglietti quote. put a bit of a smile on my face and made me walk w/ head held a little higher!
...hell jeff, you know you have great taste in cars and you know i have great taste in cars...who cares what scaglietti says...lol what are we to worry about!!!! pcb
he probably means that if someone bought it for that price that belts WOULD be done.....as they haven't been done for many years. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=136353573&postcount=300
thats true Peter, we bought ours when dealers called them the "hard sell" according to Sheehan and no one wanted them while average Dinos would sell for $95k within a week, but we and others here knew better and the insider secret about these cars how special they are
Well, I'm amazed nobody bought it then... still, their loss is my gain... I did a great track day today at Phillip Island... it's hummin! I'm not selling it now... well not until I've done all the things in Oz I want to do... which will take me 18 months or more, by which time it'll have 50,000 miles on it
