The rain over here has meant that next weekend's National Concours has had to be postponed due to flooding. It did not stop the Northern Ferrari Day last weekend and the good old dino scored another success in the Champion's Class.

Very very nice indeed. Is that an original colour?

"Nice" is not sufficient. I have seen Dave's car, and it is stunning. Beautifully restored. Dave was quite helpful to me when I visited the north for another car adventure. Thank you Dave. Your car looks.... well.... stunning.

based on the photo and lighting, the color looks a little too blue to be "grigio ferro metallizzato". is it a color other than from the standard factory color chart? is it original color for the car?

Thanks for the comments and questions!
Firstly, glad to see you got home safely Jim it was good to meet you.
The grey car is mine, it is the griggio ferro metalizzato which was AN original colour but was not THE original colour of my car which was red when I bought it in 1980.
I think what drew me to the colour change when it was restored about ten years ago is that the metallic paint seems to change colour with the surroundings and shows off the cars curves to great effect

That it hides dirt and swirls and all sorts of other evil things that black paint shows to marvellous effect!

I first saw Dave's car a couple of years back ( it truly is stunning) and vowed to paint mine that colour during it's restoration. However, on discovering that my car was delivered new to the UK in 74 in Black (20-B-50) and as it was the only (reputedly) Black GTs wide arch to come to the UK I then felt duty bound to restore it to it's original colour........ paint has just been ordered and still i'm having doubts!!!!

Ignore your doubts. Black will be stunning and the view from the rear/quarter of the flared wheel arches aligns in the viewers' eye.

There was a Belgian-registered black Dino at the Maranello 60th last weekend (I've seen it elsewhere before). Looked pretty good to me. I will post a pic tomorrow if I remember.
