    Hi all
I write Buying Guides for Classic Cars magazine (T&CC overseas) and my next subject is the 355 - so all helpful leads are welcome on things to look for when buying, how to spot crash-repaired cars, where rust tends to appear, common and serious mechanical issues, etc.
First priority though is to line up a nice example for photography - which will be in a studio against a white background, so red is the best colour and the Ed has specified a Berlinetta.
We have a choice of three studios - one at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, one in Derby and one in Norwich. Derby and Norwich can usually manage a Saturday as well as weekdays, but the Beaulieu studio is only open during the week (makes a nice day out, though, as the photographer can arrange entry to the museum etc while you're there). Classic Cars will refund petrol costs to get there but won't pay for covered transport, sorry! I know, it's not the best time of year, but at least it's getting better. We do need to get this done well before the end of the month... You will also get a set of the photos and copies of the magazine when it's published, all nice things to keep with your car!
Please don't be shy, if you have a suitable car or know someone who does, point them in my direction. I also need to include short owner interviews with three owners (ideally covering all variants of 355) so even if yours isn't a red berlinetta, if you've had a few years' experience of the model and have driven it enough to have some good experiences to relate, please get in touch. I also need to know who are the very best specialists (UK and overseas) for this model.
Security: I completely understand that owners may be wary (and should be) of complete strangers appearing on a forum wanting details of their cars. So how can I reassure you I'm genuine? Probably the simplest way would be for you to contact me via my own website (I also organise classic rallies - www.classic rally press.co.uk - but without the spaces!). Or if you're happy to contact me direct you should be able to email me via this forum (I've only just joined so I don't know if you can PM me - I know some forums only allow that after a few weeks). My direct email is MMcKays (at) aol (dot) com. You can also call or text me on (UK) 07711 901811 - after midday UK time please, as I'm currently overseas.
For extra security, if you wish, before anyone agrees to take their car to the studio I can put you in contact with the magazine editor, just to confirm identities.
Thanks in advance for your help - I look forward to hearing from you!
