The wing is an Ultima option. It is carbon-fiber. Yes, bolted to the body - this was done during the original Ultima build at the factory, and has reinforced body supports inside.
Lots of inquiries, but no serious buyers yet.... May take partial trade up/down for: - Elise (yellow, less than 10k miles, perfect condition) - Viper (2008 or new body style, low miles, perfect condition) - Ferrari 599 (open to colors, perfect condition) - Lambo Superleggera (open to colors, perfect condition) - Sprinter Limo or Escallade diplomat style Limo - ?? Of course, cash buyers are welcome as well!!
how does one spend 78k on an engine and trasmission installed... i doubt its street legal, looks cool tho
I would assume, much like a Noble or Rossion, that because it was a chassis shipped here separately with a motor installed after the fact, that it qualifies as an ASP and as such is legal without having to meet bumper, emissions, etc requirements. Also why it has traditional brake lights and turn signals.
Wow!!! Very nice example. I recall seeing one of your pics on the Ultima website a few years ago when the can-am came out. I was really tempted then. Really tempted now!
Yes, street legal!! It is titled and registered in Florida, and insured with State Farm. Getting all that done initially when the car was new was a substantial project, but it is all done now. For anyone contemplating one of these, this is a huge value-add this car has.... Easy to transfer title to new owner like any other car. And, yes, entire rolling chassis made at Ultima. Engine, gearbox, and install was done once the chassis got here. Exempts the car from regulations doing it this way for crash test, airbag, etc... Yes, the pricing for each piece is listed in the initial post. All reciepts are here. This car has a custom, aluminum block and heads, dry sump engine that is an extreme race engine with the best of all internals, etc. Add to that, a Porsche 6-speed gearbox.... plus, custom clutch, pressure plate, stainless hoses with all AN fittings.... nothing was skimped on at all......that all adds up and was not cheap!!
I've read about these. They are truly the ultimate - at the ultimate price tag too. But this is a steal. GLWS. Wish I had the room and the balls to challenge my wife on this...
This may assist . Ultima is one of the UKs most successful cottage industry car manufacturers Ultima Sports Ltd - Homepage
Awesome car! Would be pretty easy and helpful IMO to take some video (walkaround, start-up, in-car driving, driving past etc) and post to youtube. A video camera like this, velcro'd under the bill of a baseball cap does a nice job for first person POV: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-DVR-808-16-V3-Lens-D-Car-Key-Chain-Micro-Camera-HD-720P-Pocket-Camcorder-/180937263580?hash=item2a20b389dc GLWS
I had one years ago. The only car I had ever owned where I didn't care waht rolled up next to me at the light. I'd destroy them. Even bikes. My wife said. That's the biggest POS you've ever owned. I said. It's the fastest POS I've ever owned.
I never thought they were the most beautiful cars around but holy crap what a machine. That is amazing...AMAZING performance for the money. Folks spend much more than that to not go nearly as fast!! GLWS!!!
As someone pointed out to me, at my asking price, it is less than just the cost of the rolling chassis alone ...... and, getting everything else for free.... This is street legal, and you must see it in person to appreciate how clean this is, how much attention to detail and the quality of every part used in the build..... it is really one heck of a deal. I am ready to sell, so please send me a PM if you are interested.....
