has anyone seen this...check this out.. http://fantasyjunction.com/used-cars.php?id=e2228199d312cfdf6bf9008e977f22e4 looks like everything on this 308 was totally "maxed out" is this the last word on how far you can take the 308 in terms of performance upgrades ( OK there was the norcross bonneville v12 spped record car)...this is way crazy but I have to say looking at this vehichle there are dozens of items worth adopting to upgrade or individualize your 308....I was looking at what this guy did and found it somewhat humbling compared to what I was thinking of doing with the 308.....worth discussing esp. let's start with those over the top (literally!) snorkels
just my taste, I would have prefered keeping the original look but with performance upgrades, too boy racerish for me.....
This was posted a couple of weeks ago, apparently they've had it for a while, definitely an acquired taste, although I admit to liking it
This car has been for sale for at least a year. It may take a few presidential changes before they find the right buyer. BT
Take a $30,000 car, add $400,000 in parts/labor, and you end up with a $100,000 car that you can't sell! Good trick! Birdman
Here's some interesting trivia; that car rolled down the assembly line in Maranello just in front of the first 2V inj 308 that Selleck drove back in the 2nd season of Magnum. No kidding.
SEMA..which is where this car should go with a acouple of bikini cald women sitting on it signing calendars selling for 12.95 each.
LOL! Yeah, Really! It's not a "Nice 308" anymore. Nor is it a "288 GTO Recreation" as advertised. I've been kind of watching this car, too. The price keeps slowly dipping down and down and.... If I were them....I'd try to salvage it and make the body look more like a 288GTO. Put the Louvers on the Fenders. They could even keep it Black, which I think is a cool difference. Or paint it resale Red. Toss out that icky bad Wing. Whatever. But they need to do something with that car. Because, regardless of those cool performance mods. Unfortunately, the "Ricer Ferrari" and "Boy Racer Car" really do fit it as it looks right now. Too bad, too. Other than that, it would be a kick ass car. There are plenty of places to get the parts. And sell that Wing to somebody that owns a Countach...
This is what you do. First loose the wing. Then loose the scoops and clear cover, fabricate a 365bb/512bb style intake cover integraded with 288 style louvers. (seeing out the back has got to be frustrating) Then loose the shields on the fenders. Replace the worthless California rear view mirrors with something you can actually see behind you with and fabricate a better looking gauge pod. And a Porsche G50!? Why get cheap now? Loose a little boost then put in a 355 unit. Keep it all Ferrari.
I have nothing against 288 GTO conversions, I just think its ridiculous to dump that much money into a conversion. If you could do a GTO conversion for $10K it would be fun. But to spend as much as an F40 costs to make something like this is just foolish. Birdman
Maybe the guy married into some money, but she is really ugly. So he had this created so he could "go out in the Ferrari" and wouldn't be embarrassed to be seen with her. But, he realizes now he has two really ugly things in his life, feels like a failure, sells the car and divorces the hag. All for a huge loss because he looses the share in a fortune divorcing her, she makes him pay for the loss in the sale of the Ferrari and she collects alimony from him. Moral of the story, don't mess with the design of the 308!
