Ferrari is running a three seat 2005 F-1 car that is giving rides to the exclusive few at Fiorano. A seat for me, one for the wife, and one for the girlfriend. Image Unavailable, Please Login

one thing that comes to mind is... those passengers, while I am not sure how hot their butts are, nor where their feet are, one thing is for sure, it probably has one helluva OH **** handle!
Not sure. Arrows did it a few years ago. And McLaren had a two seater in the Mika days. Arrows 3 seater from 2001: http://www.motorsport.com/photos/select.asp?Y=2001&S=F1&E=Arrows_AX3_3-seater_prese
The passengers in the Ferrari look way too close the engine and headers (a toasty ride). Anyone have pictures of the two passenger McLaren? I would assume it would provide a closer to F1 driving experience with the reduced weight from not having a third passenger. Edit: I read that the Arrows 3 passenger did 0-60 in about 4.5 seconds. What was the 1 seater performance stat?
http://www.mika-hakkinen.de/sites/feature/2-seater/2seat-i.htm I remember seeing a short film of Mika and his wife/girlfriend along with him in the snow. Nothing crazy, but more of a promotional shot IIRC.
This is not a Photoshop creation. These photos came from the Autosport magazine website from an article about the car. It wasn't from the April 1 issue.
Thanks for the link. Looks very similar to the seating arrangement some IRL teams use for PR. Pretty uncomfortable looking though for the passenger imo. Would side-by-side seating cause too many problems for the driver's pedal arrangement and airflow to the radiators?
now it needs a trunk and it'be a perfect grocery getter. Only one thing - it's probably too low for McDonald's drive thru.
It was seen at Fiorano yesterday and will be used for promotional purposes. All I can say is that all my fingers and toes are crossed in hopes that this will be there in a few weeks! Promotional purposes would fit absolutely perfect into Test Day at Fiorano 13 & 14 April and we are in for this event! That would be the icing on the cake (getting a ride in this car) and having Michael there again this year - wishful thinking on my part. Carol
Rumors about the Arrows car back in 2001, which might be similar to what Ferrari had to do: ~2,000 pounds per lap, no more than three laps. Riders who were unaccustomed to the G loads would not last more than three laps, hence the limit. Also, a panic button was installed which would allow a passenger to say "okay man, I've had enough." Again these are just rumors of how it was structured.
So thats what they have to do in order to stop MS from winning, make him take the kids on a Sunday drive.
