The coachbuilder Umberto Zanasi has passed away
Umberto Zanasi died in the last few hours, at the age of 82. For many decades he has been one of the most significant entrepreneurial figures for Maranello, where he has opened and managed over the years various bodywork activities, in close synergy with Ferrari.

Born in Libya in 1938 to Italians emigrants he returned to his homeland during the war and then became professional training in bodywork. In 1961 he opened his first independent business, but the real breakthrough came after the meeting with Enzo Ferrari who appreciated his craft skills, to the point that in 1968 Enzo Ferrari himself granted Zanasi the official authorized service for assistance "red" of the prancing Horse. An activity that has been consolidated over time, expanding with the opening of other companies and becoming one of the international reference points for the restoration and maintenance of Ferrari and later also Maserati."
