Hi all. I thought I'd ask the question...What do you need that you are unable to source ? We have been on this board for a year now (yippee!) and have come across the 328 mirror switches and that kind of thing but there must be loads of components that you simply can't get. It would be interesting to hear about unavailable parts, the models they fit and the last known source and likely demand. You never know.... Cheers.
Hey thanks for asking! My 1977 308GTB needs window switch trim bezels only. Do I have to buy the whole unit? Also, my rear hood latch plastic trim is broken (subject of thread on here). I could buy the whole latch assembly, if need be. The only other rare part I've seen discussed is the early style engine hood support, that travels on a spring loaded cable. The traveller part is plastic where it molds to the support rod. I've repaired mine but would replace if available. I've shared with many folks how your firm has made ownership MUCH easier of late. The little rectangular interior lights on my GT4 (both on the doors and on the headliners) I have been eyeing the porsch 911 equivalent. They sort of look about the same size.
The one thing that early 308 owners are always looking for is "the early style engine hood support that travels on a spring loaded cable"... At some point we need to chip in together and have a run of these made!
Well, it's a complicated little assy, with wheels and axles and plastic BS. I'm REAL careful with mine after repair. Of course carrying a piece of wood adds to mystique of ownership. Same tool can tension alternator belt! I use mahogany. Left over from my church's $1.8M pipe organ. Great resonance!
Rear 308 black emblem "308". MANY MANY MANY folks want these!!!!!!!!!! Also, how about emergency brake pads or whatever is needed to fix these things??????? 308 door lights 308 door light contact pin thingies (why yes, i did grad-you-8 tech skool) 308 Turn signal stalk. Speedy, Saw some of those "push in smoke to light cigarette" things at VIP Automotive. Maybe what they have can work as a sub? Just trying to help. Enjoy the Drive, Steven R. Rochlin
Speed, Yes, the actual LIGHT that appears at the rear/bottom of the door itself. It lights up when you open the door so oncoming cars car see the door is open. Also, the pin switches are MUCH NEEDED!!!!!!!! Enjoy the Drive, Steven R. Rochlin
For the early hood prop for the 308, if you need the top hinge peice, T.Rutlands has reproduced the plastic part in metal. It is now quite durable.
Well i'll be a... You guys have them there lights. Maybe you were out before??? But then again they are "worthless" to me without the black panel frame-mounted PIN SWITCH as these are unobtanium GETTING CLOSE: 60291200 LAMP DOOR WARNING £12.40 DAMN DAMN The following item has been removed from your basket as it is no longer in stock 60054509 DOOR COURTESY SWITCH £30.30 (GBP) FYI, called Dennis McCann and he has not seen one in over a year Enjoy the Drive, Steven R. I concur! 308 door pin switches. Also note that early 308 steering wheels are also NLA. Mine's fine, but it might be nice to "refresh" the leather if the price was right!
"For the early hood prop for the 308, if you need the top hinge peice, T.Rutlands has reproduced the plastic part in metal. It is now quite durable." Hey Dave, I have been through two of their durable hinges!
New owner of an 83 308. After I bought car and before delivery, dealer replaced the broken wiper switch (on column) with an aftermarket switch installed on bottom of dash - then tossed the broken switch. Not sure it could have been repaired, but I would have liked to try... Need to get it back to original config - No luck finding the OEM part! Interesting stuff here - hope I can add something! Carl
(for a 308GTS) - the pop up rear hood hinge...most definitely; - silver/black door speaker grills; - the clock; - the labels for the a/c controls.
