unbelievable.You guys MUST SEE THIS !!!!!

when i was 'bout twelve, i was sitting on a branch in a big tree reading a book... i did that back then, and i heard this buzzing sound near me...i looked to see what it was....

it was a wasp carrying a dead seventeen year locust. now a locust is a lot bigger than a wasp and the wasp was holding onto the locust with a couple of legs, walking along the trunk of the tree with a few legs and beating its wings like crazy all at the same time.

it worked its way along until it was higher than i was. i watched with great interest, til finally the wasp let go of the trunk and started flying with the locust. it went almost straight down until it nearly hit the ground and then gradually climbed a bit as it flew away toward the field that was across the street from outr house.

somehow the wasp knew just how high he had to get to gain enough speed to carry the locust's body while flying.

yes, i agree. its a bug that specifically hunts bees and wasps. there are mosquito hawks that are huge and look like mosquito's also, but they dont hunt bees or wasps.

Haha! Thats pretty neat, I remember I had a video on my cell phone of two big ass ants fighting on my desk, it wasn't as violent but lasted a good 15 minutes.

 

I thought we had some bad-ass mosquitos here in WI...but geez...

KEWL. I saw a spider fight a fly that was caught in it's web. The fly was able to break free and fly away after several minutes.

Are you sure it's a bee, it kind of looks like a wasp/ yellow jacket.
