Hate to latch on to the thread but I cannot say enough good things about his efforts to keep these old cars going. Verell, the mirror caps that you made for my 328 are awesome! My 7 year old now says that we are at least a second quicker around the track now. Thanks for the help, next is the headlight switch as soon as it completely quits. It keeps coming back from the dead somehow. Eric.

    Hello Verell,

"As long as you are in there......."

So, I was wondering how the lables and knobs were coming along??

Aren't you looking forward to retirement, so you can do this full time ::--)))

Do you, (or any of you that have done the installation), have a favorite set of instructions to fit the wonderous bezels?

I feel fairly confident that i can do it - but re-inventing the wheel often has its trials and near suicide attempts from frustration...ignorance is NOT bliss.

Any Cognescente, (sp??) out there willing to share??

I just sold the last 2 bezels from group buy #2. Is there enough interest for me to have some more made up for a group buy?

Based on the last order, It'll take a minimum of 6-8 weeks after I place the order before they're available, so if you want some for this salt season, speak up now.

Price will vary with quantity, It shouldn't exceed $175/bezel, & more likely will be around $155-$165/bezel.

I've just received several requests for lever bezels & since these have been out of stock for the better part of a year I thought I'd better get another group buy going.

The group buy will end Friday 1-Feb. At that time I'll calculate the final price, request payment & place the order with the machine shop. Based on the last order, It'll take 6 -8 weeks after I place the order before they're available, so if you want some before driving season, post a response to this thread.

I'm having to find a new machine shop to make them as the one I was using has a large long-term contract & "isn't taking on more work for the next 9-12 months, possibly longer".

If you read the earlier threads, you'll find that most people who've bought these have ended up replacing all their bezels because the show chrome finish on these makes the OEM plated plastic look shabby. Other than finish quality, you can not tell these from the OEM bezels once they're installed.

    ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS:

    GROUP BUY #2 PRICING:
Price to subscribed FerrariChat members for this group buy is: TBD/bezel.
(The exact group buy price is going to depend on quantity ordered & what I get for the machining quote. If the group buy size is for around 20 - 25 piecesI expect the price to be in the $130 - $159/bezel ballpark, If the buy gets up to 40-50 pieces it might be as low as the previous price of $122/bezel.)

    List price is: $159.00

There is a per order shipping cost of: $8.00 + $1.00/bezel Insurance.

I bought a set of these bezels from Verell the last time around, and they are absolutely beautiful. What an improvement over the stock item! No comparison. Well worth the money. Since one of my old ones had broken, knowing that the new ones are virtually unbreakable is a major plus. Nice offer here Verell. Thanks for everything you do for the F-Chat crowd.

I'll second that . . . but most people will want the decals that go on (or should that be "in") the bezels. Anybody come up with a source for those or a way to get the old ones off and glued to the new ones?

No comparison to the billet bezels, but it worked.

Bad pic . .. I made a piece that screwed on to the bottom of the plastic bezel that replaced the ear that broke off.

I'm close to finishing the mold for the knobs, & am researching a source for the lables.

    REUSING OEM LABLES:
The OEM lables are held on by a rubber type cement, soak them overnight in mineral spirits & it'll release. Clean the back up & attach to the new bezels with trim cement.

    Sean,
Nice fix. You were lucky that just the tab broke off. Usually the break takes one of the cylindrical bosses off of the top, or even cracks the top itself.

I was really lucky. The glue holding my old decals had dried up, and they virtually fell out, so no problem reusing them. But hopefully Verell will come up with a source for replacements, as mine have some scratches and wear showing on them.

    Verrel,

Did you get my PM with the laundry-list of things I want to get from you?

I am in for 1 bezel (broken when I bought the car) as my other three were, as I discovered while removing the center tunnel for re-leathering, already swapped for metal ones.

Did you sell three to someone in CA or TX in one of the buys before? I am trying to learn more about my car and the PO does not want to give me (or the dealer middleman) the time of day.

    Hello Mark,
Received your PM, will respond late this week.

    >Did you sell three to someone in CA or TX in one of the buys before?

Possibly, I remember shipping quite a few to CA, & I think also some to TX, the quantities varied from 1 to 4. However, I don't have an easy way of searching previous invoices.

I don't know of anyone else who's ever made the metal ones, so most likely Unobtainium Supply made them. However, I may not have sold them to your PO as I did sell quite a few to a distributor who would have retailed them.

Just a reminder, the group buy deadline is rapidly approaching.

Interest to date has been extremely light, nowhere near the minimum needed to justify a mfg. run.

I've located a company that says they can make the lables. I've got good pictures of the 308 Temp & Choke lables from a pair of NOS ones that I gave them to work from. I've got preliminary quotes back, & a quoted delivery time of 4-6 weeks.

    NEED HELP:
Does anyone have a good scan or picture of the 308 vent control lable? If so, I'd appreciate a copy to give to the lable company to generate the artwork from. Otherwise I'm going to have to try to get a lable off of one of my car's controls. If you have a picture, please send it to:
    Verell(at)UnobtainiumSupply(dot)com.

Given the lack of response to the bezel group buy, I'm now talking to the major distributors who seem very interested in them, but only if I can also supply the lables.

Thanks for the pictures, I've got enough detail so that I can create CAD layouts of the labels.

Did the vent label yesterday, took about 4 hours to get it into the CAD system. Couldn't find a font that was close so I had to create all the letters by hand. Luckily I can at least re-use the O & E letters on the choke label.

You're in luck! I've located & yesterday I bought back a few sets of my lever bezels from someone who was planning on reselling them overseas & then didn't(long story-don't ask), so can take orders until they're exhausted! I had to pay him $10/bezel over what I sold them to him for, so the price will be $132/bezel + a per order shipping cost of: $8.00 + $1.00/bezel Insurance.

When these are gone, it will be at least a year, possibly 2 before there's enough demand built up for me to run off some more.

    Price for a set of 4 bezels is: $540 = $528/bezel + $12 S&I within USA, contact me w/ address & phone # for international shipping quote.

    Price for 1 bezel is: $141 = $132 + $9 S&I

    ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS:
    To order send PayPal to:

    SUBJ: ORDER:Qty n Unbreakable Lever Bezels,Chrome Qty
TO: Orders(at)UnobtainiumSupply(dot)com - (Sorry, but I get swamped with spam when I use the @ & . symbols)

    LABELS:
I'm making good progress on sourcing the labels. I have samples of similar lablel coming from the vendor as I want to make sure of his quality before I place an order for several $K. Also, I need to finish the CAD artwork for the other 3 label patterns. Once I place the order, turn-around is quoted as 5 weeks, so I expect lables will be available in Late April or early May.

Several people have asked what the label set will contain.

I think there's going to be 2 308 Label sets:
    - Carb'd car set: 2 Vent, 1 Temp, & 1 Choke
    - Injected car set: 2 Vent & 2 Temp

Alternatively there may be a set of 5 labels:
    - 2 Vent, 2 Temp & 1 Choke

    Verell,

Good to hear you are making progress on the labels. Am I correct in assuming (dangerous word) that the 308 carb'd set is the same as for Dino's, i.e., 2 Vents (word "DEF" w/ arrows), 1 Temp (no words, just blue dot/red dot) and 1 Choke (word "CHOKE" w/ blue dot/red dot). The pictures I sent you were, of course, from my Dino and I believe they are exactly the same as for the 308 carb cars. Btw, when I sent you the pictures, I neglected to include the choke bezel label. Do you need that?

Thanks for your perserverance on this,

    Bill
