Does anybody know what these are worth. I searched the thread but the only recent post is about a gov't auction where a built car sold for 820 euros. I need the value of the model. The box has a cut in the side from when the shipping box was opened. The model is perfect and all the plastic trees are still in the plastic bags. Thanks in advance. I searched ebay but there were non for sale.

I would say anywhere between $300 to $600 depending on who is looking at the moment. That is for a red one of course. A black one would get a higher price. The black one with the gold rims (supposedly a real one just like it exist, made for a German football star) was made in a limited edition of 1000. I have seen one sell for as much as $4000.

If I were you, I'd send a pm to Scaledetails. I think an unbuilt Pocher F40 would bring way more than that.
At least he would be able to give you a better estimate of the value of your kit.

someone was on crack to spend $4K on a black Pocher F40.

But anyways- a red unbuilt with uncracked windows and no damage to the body parts is worth about $600 normally. Might get more but only if someone comes along really wanting it bad.

Scaledetails or Brady Ward would buy it from you so they could resell it. If you want a quick buck.

I could be interested in one also, if you would like to make a quick buck and make someone happy.

Why not start the bidding. I'll give you $400. I pay UPS shipping. (I may re-bid).

Note: the seller has not agreed to this being an auction, but who knows...

Offer him a little more and once you have the kit we can meet and talk about having it built properly. I stopped by and said hello at the Winter Park event...now I have joined the Fcar community with an entry level car [ 308 GTSi]. BTW...check out my profile...we have something in common w/prev. owned cars ;)

Congrats on your car. Great choice.

As for Triumph, GT6 are great cars.

As to the OP, good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Scaledetails tells me the kit is worth $500-$600 as is and he thinks that is will go up in value. My only problem is that I have a better chance of convincing my wife I should have a girlfriend than I do of displaying the model in the house.

I already told her that if I was allowed to decorate then it would fit right in. It will go in the garage apt with the rest of my things. Which is fine because she never goes up there and I am slowly turning it into a museum showcasing the days when I could exist on ramen noodles, margaritas and keep a 355 as a daily driver.

I agree the kit makes it a much better looking car, but like the car the kits not cheap either.
If I had the car, I would hang onto it and get the kit. Then you would want it in your collection the rest of your life...

I don't know. I have the car and have no real desire for the Pocher kit. If one falls in my lap at a bargain price then fine, but otherwise, I'm not really interested. The detail of the base kit is just plain awful. and the transkits add up...

I have a 1:12 scale kyosho that suits me just fine.

I may be in the minority, but to each his own.

I just sold one of my Pocher F40 kits It was unbuilt but did not include the original box and the body needed repainting sold that one for $400.

I also have 2 built F40s, What I want to do one day is build one with the autograph kit just need to justify spending $1400 on a transkit.

I said I have seen an unbuilt black F40 go for $4K, but it was the extremely rare one with the gold wheels which says on its box that it is released for the German market only and limited to 1000.
The authograph kits are almost waist of money if you actually plan to put the whole kit together. 80% of the detail on which you can spend a year adding will be lost from view once everything is pieced together. I build my F40 (the original black kit with the gold rims) and added an added and added to the engine and once I put it in the model you can see maybe 1/8 of what was put on it.
Don't get me wrong, they are unbelievable detail kits and I can see why they cost so much but just like most models are worth something only if they are still in their box-something I never understood.
If you can afford it find a model professionally built with an authograph kit and enjoy it. But buying everything and putting it together would most likely leave you with a sense of being robed because after all your hard work you can not see most of it. If you use a third of the kit and put the whole model together no one would know.
Oh and by the way, the Pocher Ferraris are some of the worst models you can find to put together and considering their scale are surprisingly lacking of detail.
