They told me it was normal, but i just wanted to make sure. I have never seen anything like that and I just wanted to make sure. On this site i saw some people saying that it isn't normal on their other F Cars, but if you are showing that is completely normal that is appreciated.

Personally I've never seen it before. I've owned 6 Ferrari cars and certainly not any expert. None of my cars had this. Like everything today truth's definition is what you think it is. Only source of confidence is to DIG! If it makes you question= Walk! There are plenty of 488's to behold. You might ask an exclusive Ferrari Body shop, you might call Ferrari of North America, you might ask judges at Concours events. Overall if in doubt Walk. If you have doubts, when it comes time to sell this car you may be limiting potential buyers

All 3 Ferraris I've owned (360, 458, 488) as well as any of my friends cars, that I put on the lift, looks like the bottom of the OP's car. I have never seen them totally smooth without that coating, nor perfectly coated and solid black like the other photo (although the totally black one looks like the frame rails are damaged, so maybe it was re-done, also do not recognize which car it is). Very strange that they vary so much. I would love to know the logic on what causes the variation from car to car.

Just use a paint meter and check the mils of the paint, would think someone doing a inspection on high end cars would be a standard practice

Paint meter didn’t show any paint issues. PPI person said everything was normal this is just me being overly curious

That’s good news, no need to worry then. I find it odd how the black paint in the engine compartment is just sprayed over the red and chips easily when taking bolts out and working on them
