Underground garage ramp Clearance

just invite me and my girlfriend over for drinks!

 

Drive in/out at an angle (slow) + skid plates are the only two things that I can think of.

I have a very steep narrow drop into my garage and not a problem Yes i do have new skid plated but never hear a peep just SUPER slow I STOp while still on incline and drift slowly over low point just dont lower the cqr

 

Looking at those pics, you do need skid plates. Many places you can get them. Mine is homemade from Home-Depot so I can replace them quick+cheap as needed

I think it's hard to tell just from pictures. A couple of comments FWIW.

You have a double whammy because not only is your drive ramp steep, it is narrow, so you can't do the "take the entrance at an angle" trick to gain a bit of clearance. So you will need to go really slow the first time and ideally have a friend present to either look at the clearance while you're in the car or have your friend drive it so you can look and see just how much clearance you have or need.

Next, skid plates are most likely needed, but you should realize they all add some thickness under the bumper, so actually they decrease your clearance. Yet, you probably need or want them so that the skid plates wear away from contact rather than your bumper. They also help distribute the impact so that damage to the bumper is less likely.

Finally, if all else fails, the suspension is height adjustable. There is an ideal setting/spec from the factory, but if the choice is to raise the car a small amount to clear or keep it stock and scrape, well, the choice is yours, but maybe raising it a bit wouldn't be all that bad. But check it with a friend first, so you know how much additional clearance you need if any.

The underside of my bumper is pretty badly scraped, you don't see underneath it so my advice just scrape it once and you won't worry about it again, I don't

You need a Roberuta lift kit...

 

My lower bumper has some extra thick plastic added designed to avoid paint damage. I got it from my clear bra installed. It's about 10 pages of paper thick. Easier to put on compared to skid plate.

 

I have installed the Novitec 40mm lift system on several cars to deal with driveways such as this. lifts 40mm of ride height, will automatically lower at 38MPH or if you push the button again. Just a thought, let me know if you want more information.
