How long will it be before some idiot tries to copy the new Jeep Commander TV ad and drive the thing under water? I can almost hear it now, "I just wanted to show my kids the sharks like in the commercial"

This ad is just the latest in car-related commercials that make me crazy. The fine print in the ad, white lettering against the white surf, tells us that this is a "Fictionionalization. Car is not designed for underwater use." Gee thanks. Thought maybe it was the James Bond family heading out for the day. WTF. Why not show the kids looking up into the sky at, say, American Bald Eagles. The Bushies would love that ad.

"This vehicle does not guarantee your children will see Bald Eagles. If you do, Jeep maintains no liability in the event your childrens' eyes are pecked out."

Another ad I hate. It's for Suzuki where the husband, in his suit, kisses his wife goodbye, walks out the door and jumps off the cliff that they apparently live atop. BUT DON'T WORRY--HE'S WEARING A HELMET AND PARACHUTE!! Whoa man! How extreme. The ad tells us "Professional. Do not attempt this at home." That's great. Just in case you live on top of a fuggin' mountain and park your Suzuki at the base, 1000 feet below.

I always wondered how the Suzuki guy gets home... Does he climb the cliff? Maybe he works on top of a mountain/cliff that he can jump off to get home.

Yeah but then how does he get to the top of that mountain/cliff, and if he can drive up it. How does he get his car back to the base of his home mountain? We need to think about these things.

what about the toyota tundra commercials. They have the one were the truck take a direct hit from a meteor and no scratch. They also had an ad with a pissed off girlfriend who has the truck pushed off a cliff and it tumbles down with not a scratch. They are pretty funny but I can see some jackass trying that and then try to sue toyota when he destroys his car.
