In April 2008 I took delivery of my second 599 a new nero daytona car. My dealer suggested I order another and they’d take back the black car when the new one arrived, things were looking good with strong residuals so I went ahead, delivery due in November 2008. The black car went to the dealer in August/ September 2008 to be sold but the recession bit and it didn’t move, ultimately as they couldn’t sell the black car and didn’t want to buy it in to stock at a reasonable price they agreed I did not have to take the new rosso fiorano car, very fair of them I have to say.

I saw the car when it arrived in the UK in late 2008 and they tried to tempt me but it made no sense to buy a car that would drop in value significantly the moment it left the showroom. Over the last 3 Years I’d seen the car come on the market a couple of times and know the original and third owner (who had the HGTE pack added)

Recently I was in the market for another V12, I wanted a 599 but my Wife declared them to be a bit ‘thugish’ so I purchased a very nice 575M F1 :). On Sunday, a friend came to our house in his recently acquired, stunning, rosso corsa 599 HGTE which my Wife announced looked very nice and it transpired her ‘thugish’ comment was apparently directed at our two previous Black 599’s . Stupidly I looked the next day at the classifieds and by chance the Rosso Fiorano car I’d ordered in 2008 was for sale.......

……so subject to test drive and inspection on Tuesday I’ll be united with the car I ordered nearly 4 years ago at half the price it would have cost me back then, which is nice

    Great story!
Kind of was in a similar situation recently.Marshall Goldmann had my old Nero D 599 (1997) and it looked absolutely stunning on their website, only 3k miles (I traded the car with 2.7k),price was just below $200k.
Was tempted but was torpedoed by my wife (funny how they control us....) who decided there was no room in my life for any "old girlfriends".......

    Beautiful car, Mark. Congrats.

I had a similar thing happen in October. In 2008 I factory ordered a Nero 599 and took delivery in 8/2008. 12 months and 5300 miles later, I felt uncomfortable with the amount of money I had tied up in the car and traded out of it to a more modest V8 Vantage Roadster. Last September I was looking at the Lake Forest Sportscars website and there was my 599 back for sale. Only 600 additional miles, and the owner had purchased the Power Cube warranty. Perfect condition. A good price was negotiated and I bought it back. How often does one get to buy a perfect, heavily depreciated used car that you put 90% of the miles on specced exactly to your tastes, because you specced it out in the first place? Even my wife encouraged this one. When I brought it home, the Homelink was still programmed for my garage.

Well done!! That car is beautiful. Other than the steering wheel being on the wrong side I'd say perfect.

Beautiful car. I love that red. It's the only red I've seen that you can still do yellow calipers.
