today I put the amplifier in the passenger foot space out and there was lying the part on the picture. does someone knows for what this is? is it original? I really don´t know for what this should be. may be koenig had forgotten to put it out??? Image Unavailable, Please Login
It holds the vacuum control line bundle to the vent flap control of the HVAC system on the back side of the console panel.
That's the second one in a month I have seen laying on the floor. What's with people who leave out screws, bolts, brackets etc. when putting something back together. It really is a pet peeve with me. Just about everything I go into repair has been messed with by someone before and stuff is always missing or put together incorrect.
W O W thank you for this fast answer ! ! ! ! ! my english is not sooo good that I know and understand all. what please is HVAC ( H = ???, V = ???, AC aircondition ? ) back side of the console panel - the center panel, so behind or under the odometer or where I found this part behind the amplifier? there are only electric wires. may be behind ( so between the connection plate and the wheelhouse ) the connection plate? I can not find any hole to fasten this part, it is a 6 mm screw. perhaps you have a picture brian? or in the spare parts catalog a page and part number?
kenneth: so you see the differnce between a normal mechanic and a good mechanic. the good one will not forget such parts to fix. but same I see daily when I get cars inside and have been before somewhere else and they could not repair or after repairing the car runs more bad than before.
+1 Just removed dash and door panels to fix window speed and heater core. No less than 20 fasteners or little parts missing, crappy wire splices, wires pinched between assemblies, and stuff that was not put back properly, like door trim plastic snaps, flat nuts missing on visors. Amazing I had to source and replace all when putting back together and I have receipt history from reputable Ferrari shops.
A lot of the special hardware I have is what was left lying around by the guys on the assembly line. The cars are full of it when new. When something is dropped they never look for it or pick it up.
Sorry, I can't post pictures. It isnt shown in the parts book either but it attaches to part 41 Tav 120 in the 90 TR parts book.
I am pretty sure Steve had a pic of were it went, and posted it a few months back. Maybe he will chime in. I tried to search for it but I could not find the thread.
I have nothing of any value to add, other than this level of knowledge is beyond mortals. Amazed. Brian, hopefully you'll not think this idle flattery, but your depth of knowledge is like a surgeon coming on a "What ails you" website and chatting with patients. If Car Jeopardy comes to my town, I would appreciate your cell number.
Being a mechanic teacher you have no clue how hard it is to get the students to do a proper job in putting everything back in place properly. Thet just DON'T CARE. If it work it's OK for them. Or they answer saying it was like that when got it. I get mad all the time because of that.
thank you for this info brian so this part then is for holding the complete rubber where the vacuum hoses are on the vacuum switch. this helps me now. thank you again ! ! !
Or most so called professionals under the age of 40 for that matter. Pride and doing it right once quit being stressed to kids many many years ago. Coming to grips with that fact is why I have a one man operation. You can't teach good work if they don't know what good is or don't see any need for it.
here now a picture where this part has to be the nut I put on after taking the photo thank you for the help Image Unavailable, Please Login
