    Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed a bit of an odd process with my Ferrari 296 (and I’ve experienced the same on the SF90) when it comes to removing the charger. To get the charger to release, I have to first unlock the car, then lock it, and finally unlock it again before I can safely detach the charger.

Is this normal behavior, or could there be an issue with the charging lock mechanism? It seems a bit cumbersome, so I wanted to see if anyone else has had the same experience or if there’s a way to simplify the process.

    Thanks for any insights!

I unlock the car, switch the charger off at the mains and then detach it from the car. I would say there is a few seconds delay between switching the charger off to hearing the electronic release from the car attachment point.

    1. Car is locked
    2. Unplug the cable from the car
    3. Unplug the cable from the wall.

Do you have auto lock and unlock on the car enabled?

I have to have access to the cabin to unlock/open the charging port, but I can plug/unplug the charger itself whether the car is locked or unlocked from that point forward. What MY is your car?

The trick I use is to unlock the car, then there’s a small delay of cable being unlatched sound, followed by a tiny window of a second or two to pull out the cable.

Was told by the dealer when I had the car delivered to press unlock, wait almost a second or more then press unlock again (like opening the trunk but slower)... Worked for me every time
