    Hello,
I got a phone call from the owner of an '87 Testarossa yesterday. He was looking for a plastic housing for his bonnet latch.

I'm pretty sure that the latch housings are the same as the 308 (1st picture). However, the 308 used 2 varients of the housing. I've been producing both 308 latch housing varients since January 2005, See this thread:
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7618
but didn't realize that the Testarossa/512TR used the same latch.

    Referring to the 2nd picture:

The housing in the front of the picture with the cable going a round hole was used for the 308's boot (engine cover) latch.

The housing with the raised cable boss on the back was used for the 308's bonnet latch.

    My questions are:

Which style housing was used on the Testarossa & 512TR Bonnet & Boot latches?

Were the Bonnet & Boot latches the same?

Verell, I think the Testarossa is the same as the 308, one of each. It is last year I had mine out so I am not too sure but if I get the opportunity tomorrow I will go take a look and let you know.

V-man it's one with the cable boss on the back. At least that's what mine has.

Verell, I checked both on my 87 TR last night and they both have the boss (top one in your pic).
On your next run, I'll take one of each for spares, because I see that the one on the 308 for the engine lid has a cracked lip.
    Thanks,
    Phil V.

After several false starts I finally produced a replacement mold. I have a backlog that will take me a couple of weeks to catch up, but am now taking orders again. Just click on my name by this post and select [Send email to Verell].
