My screw drivers can be seen in post https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/145224874/ Although my car is an 81 The tool kit i have appears to be for an earlier carb car with everest 22 spanners (should be polytools) but I have the correct type plug socket (that requires a 14mm spanner), but the incorrect 14mm combination spanner etc. As you say who would have thought tool kits would be so interesting.
This nice lady has often bulb boxes (and other stuf) for sale : https://www.ebay.com/usr/scuderiaricambi250?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754 Look at "visit store"... Guido
Hi Steven, I just pulled the tool kit from my 1985 308 GTS QV, Build July 1984. It looks like I'm missing the pliers and the emergency window crank but I believe everything else is there. Would I be looking for the very rare Blue Handled pliers to complete my kit? Or, would the molded red hand that say Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
what are the three belts in this phot - i believe one is the gates 7208 and another is a 7261 but what is the third?
Really unsure, as there were some belts among my three cars that were just "wrong" mistaken purchase perhaps... All three cars, 20405, 22127, and 22641, were "two belt" pulley set ups....there were the air pump belts on the cams of course......(not!)
Hey guys, just wanted to mention: I found the "Euro Only" safety triangle in a kitchen cabinet, it's posted for sale in my "BigTex cleans the garage" thread above.. Any idea what something like that, Mint in Box, is worth??? Thanks! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Alan, It's a standard "Costaplastik", not very rare nor difficult to find. Guys from Italy are regularly posting these on E-Bay for about $ 100. Again, "euro" cars all had one, but not sure the US cars did. I believe they didn't. Rgds
See the link here-enclosed: $ 80 to 100 maximum. Rgds https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ferrari-308-328-208-Dino-Mondial-tool-triangle-reflector-Costaplastic-288-QV-GT4/264077896306?hash=item3d7c44ea72:g:***AAOSw2H5afeMN:rk:9f:0
I allow myself to add, that these original safety triangles are -like the rest of the tools- pretty useless. My dad once needed it after a breakdown on the german Autobahn. It was blown away into vegetation by the first heavy truck passing by. Best from Germany Maetin
Well, it's because there is no speed limit on the german Autobahns...these safety triangles are certified up to 130 km/h only. By the way, a bit in advance, but: Guter Rutsch ins neue Jahr, Martin... Rgds
Though that truck, which blew the safety triangle away, was limited to 80km/h even back then. Dir, Bruno, auch einen 'Guten Rutsch' ins neue Jahr. Best Regards Martin
I’m laughing! Every time I look at these tools, I keep thinking how cheesy and crappy they are...they are literally made to the lowest standards like a cheap corner store kids tool set.
These tool sets from the 70s must be the most expensive scrap now. I will never get it, why Ferrari equipped their cars with tools Made in India. Worse, the tools from that company didn't get better till today. A little bit of horror-show: http://www.everesttools.com/ My absolutely favourite tools I love working with, come from Italy and though those are hard to obtain in Germany since we have quality tools too, I take the effort to purchase additions for my toolbox in Italy. I'm talking about BETA-tools. These would have been worthy as a Ferrari tool-kit. Why didn't they use these? Best from Germany Martin
Thanks to all! I took $100. Yes it was Euro only as I understand it. The BETA line was for the F1 team! NOT the poor customers!!
A friend of mine who’s missing the emergency window crank the “T” shape for his 85 QV US, if anyone know where there’s one for sale please let me know please, thank you.
Watch E-Bay uk in the next days, Mike, with a search for "Ferrari Tools": there was one for sale until a few days ago, if not already sold, it might reappear and be offered again. Rgds
If my memory serves me well, Ferrari did actually deliver tool rolls with BEAT Tools from time to time, but only at random, and during the sixties / seventies. The wrenches, as we have established in this very thread, were: - Everest for most carbed cars, - Polytools for most 2-valve injected and some early QVs - Kravm or Utema for most Qvs - Kravm for 328s. Of course, some odd brand might have been used here and there according to what was available at the moment, so there might be some out-of-sequence brands that are still OEM, but the general rules are the ones above. Rgds
Mike, The one I was writing about above is back here on ebay uk. Rgds https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/emergency-Ferrari-tool-kit-door-Window-Winder-Testarossa-328-mondial-412-400-512/264118291043?hash=item3d7ead4a63:g:~~UAAOSwdTJagdt0
