OEM is like a 12 inch whip, a stiff whip but a whip. It's not think and stocky. Aftermarket for certain. From underneath it is mounted you can be sure.
The whole assembly unbolts from underneath; you need to remove the interior light and you will see the bolt. The bent aerial you are referring to just unscrews, from the aerial mount. As said above standards is about 12” long. You can get them on Amazon for about £4. I’ve bought two recently!
Haha thanks for that! Yeah the antenna part's off a Prius , more sturdy for when a cover's on it. Will attempt changing grommet on the weekend, gotta be water tight when living in England!
