I don't understand why: Artcurial Motorcars à Rétromobile - Sale N° 2219 - Lot N° 351 | Artcurial | Briest - Poulain - F. Tajan Any suggestions?
Well, the Alemanno cars from the A6G-2000 serie are not that attractive as the Frua- and Zagato-versions! In my opinion Euro 400k was a good price for the car - but n/s! The resto of the car was very good!!!
So, Walter, just short of the low estimate.... You have mentioned several times that the car is in very good condition, with a recent restauration, and very original. But, originality may be a two-egded sword in this case; that special two-color scheme is an acquired taste, to say the least. I wonder how much that special color scheme may have reduced interest in the car. I agree with you that the Alemanos are a bit less spectacular than the Zagatos and Fruas, but it is a very good looking and very rare car nonetheless. Cheers, Gabriel
Gabriel, we must not talk about the availability of an A6G 2000, no matter if Alemanno, Zagato or Frua. Yes, Its a rare car. I agree with you about the two-tone paint. Its not my taste - but the car was delivered like that. I stumbled about another -litte- issue in the auction catalogue: there it was claimed that the car had been driven in some 50s rallys etc. by the 1st owner! Perhaps I am wrong here - but I strongly doubt that! And if the car ever raced I would like to see proofs....
