Tonight at 7pm the Very highly acclaimed UNT One O'Clock Lab Band will be performing a free concert on the parking lot of NRH20 in North Richland Hills. On highway 26 just west of the Highway 26/Precinct Line intersection.

They are without a doubt the premiere jazz ensemble in the world today. Many grammy nominations for their recordings and all the greats have played with them at one time or another. Many jazz greats like Wynton Marsalis have been known to sit in with them unannounced when in the area.

If you can make it it would be worth the effort.......great jazz, just no smoking or drinking on the NRH20 property..........Also, no audio or video recording......

I will look for you......be there.....

Wow, can those guys play some jazz. They have two CD's nominated this year for Grammys...They have a string bass player who just knocks it down on string bass, electric bass and acoustic bass...........Trombones that just slam it out, trumpets that play Maynard Ferguson charts like they are supposed to be played. Saxes that just rip including a bari sax that just knocks em dead.......Did I say Wow..............

If you missed it and are a jazz lover you missed a great evening. Lawn chairs, blankets, standing, whatever you like. People brought box lunches and ate while the band played, Really a great time had by all. Wish you had been there.

Next Friday night, April 23, they are having a Beatle tribute featuring Me and My Duck. They are a great imitation group and do a very respectable job of covering the Beatles. Gates open at 6pm on the parking lot of NRH2O and the concert begins at 7pm. And did I mention that it is free, just like tonight was. Bring your chairs, blankets, cots, the kids, you dog, whatever. All are welcome. They have a play area for the kids on the grounds of NRH2O and keep the kids creatively entertained and active the whole time you are enjoying the concert. Snacks are available for purchase at very reasonable prices if you forget to bring your own.........Just no smoking and no glass bottles......

And then April 30, it Les Elgart, the last remaining Big Band from the 40's. Fabulous perfromances of some of the greatest of the Big Band Era...........Free....Be there....
