"It also comes with propane tanks for racing" How many propane tanks can you count? http://www.beverlyhillscarclub.com/1980-ferrari-308-gts--c-1476.htm
Has the car been modified to run on propane? Do you think each propane bottle has to be filled individually after being taken out of the car? Some propane pics from the ad: . Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Is this car even legal to be driven on public roads? My concerns would be safety related. The bottles are not well secured. What about a rear end collision? I have no idea about the laws regarding propane powered vehicles. What would be the point of this conversion?
Those look more like natural gas tanks....... honestly they look identical to the air tanks our fire dept uses. I wonder if they are actually propane or if maybe natural gas. I have only seen propane in metal tanks but have seen a lot of composite natural gas tanks. Natural gas conversions aren't that hard to do. Interesting.
My first thought was, it's a car bomb! Does a propane car run much cooler? Not much radiator action happening up front.
There's no way that would pass in a state the performs a safety inspection. No way. That is a bomb waiting to happen. Jim
In exactly what series is this car eligible to race? I can't see it ever meeting any safety regulations whatsoever (on or off track!) What are the performance advantages of running on propane compared to petrol (gasoline)? As others have asked, what modifications have been made to the engine to run on propane (a fuel it was never designed for!)? Frankly this looks like a car that desperately needs rescuing from someone's yampy idea of enhanced performance! The radiator appears to be there but there seems to be a lack of cooling fans! It looks to Me to be a case of someone thinking they were being clever! - and then finding out that they'd actually ruined their car!
