I just wanted to let everyone know, I successfully mounted 355 rims on my 348 today using the 348 lug bolts with no issues whatsoever. Legend had it that these bolts didn't have sufficient length to adequately hold the wheel on. This is incorrect - the 348 lug bolt actually has a very slightly longer SHAFT length, so it works just fine.

So...if you're going to mount 355 wheels on your 348, use your 348 lug bolts!
I will be posting pictures soon of the "new look". Believe me, it makes a huge difference on the car.

Well blow me down!!! That is very interesting. I wonder if that holds true for all of the 348 model years? I'm gonna measure my bolts when I get home. Now to stir the pot even more, I wonder if the 348 bolts will work with 512tr rims? Hummmmm??? I hope so.

Ernie...Lyle Tanner measured the shaft length of the standard lug bolt for the 348ts (mine's a 1990) at 55.5 mm, about 3 mm LONGER than the F355 standard lug bolt. That was my first clue that everything was going to be OK. I was actually more worried that they would be too long, but again, everything turned out OK.

It seems to me that 22 millimeter lug bolts are pretty standard on Ferraris.

I base this supposition on the fact that my Dad's 360 uses the same size (22mm) lug bolts as my 348.

Dave, I know what a stickler you are for originality. I am pretty much the same way. But I can tell you this, if you put the 355 rim on your car, you'll never look back.

Shucks, I wish I'd known this was a big question... I've done quite a bit of research on lug bolts, 348 all seem to be compatible (Not sure about the Enzo), but it seems that everything newer (except for the crazy long rears on US 348s of some years) are about the same length. And isn't the length more like 55 vs 52 mm? Where's the 22? (That's from memory about the exact length, but I'm quite confident in the 348/355/360/550 using approximately the same lug bolts.)

22 mm is the lugbolt head size (which they all seem to be).

Unless you have the later USA 94 car with the wider track rear wheels - these use 80mm bolts!
