Just removed the drivers side tank, Funny when you hear metal on metal clunking in a fuel tank. The quanity probe is rusted from top to bottom and everything that has fallen off of it is residing in the tank. I knew this car had issues and this is why I am digging into it so much. Ill post pics as soon as I find my camera. So now I wonder if I can find a used one.
I wanted to refresh my feul sender top for good looks and when I pulled it the steel bar that the sender is rivited to was rusty and nasty. I pulled the lower hose and flushed out the tank by pouring in 2 gals and straing out pieces of rust and repeated the flush 3 or 4 times and the tank was fine. Then I took a sturdy piece of alloy square stock and riveted the sender to its new shaft.
