There must be a way to install a more modern radio while keeping the dash original. I cannot get the radio to find the 6 CD changer and frankly, being able to have blue tooth to connect to a phone and play a huge list of music or listen to podcasts must be possible. Lots of smart people out there with experience.

Do you pull the radio out from the dash and let the connection dangle or is it all contained inside the Dash CD player? Thanks for this suggestion, but a bit more on how to install would truly help.

I just put this one in for Bluetooth streaming audio a week ago and it works great with the factory head unit in my 575. Covered 500 miles so far and on rare occasions on startup, I have to tap the device name to connect in Bluetooth settings on my phone or click back over to AUX from the single CD mode and then its fine. Once playing, there are no interruptions and quality is excellent. No track info is displayed, but I am satisfied with the performance. Comes from Becker in NJ. www.beckerautosound.com

You do have to pull the head unit to install. This module needs to be wired in to a key-switched hot and then it has a harness that plugs into the back of the head unit (I believe in place of the CD changer).

I have a later Ferrari Becker Cascade from a 599 which I am planning on putting into my F355 and I can confirm its iPod connection does not work with the Bovee 1000, so I will be using another of these modules when I get around to that install.

Based on what I can glean, I *think* a Becker cascade 6112 will drop right into a 456M using the same exact connections in the back.
It is an expensive thing to verify but that’s what I want to eventually do once I figure it out.

456M yes - the early 456 I think has a shallow head unit control facing upright if I am remembering correctly.

No way you got it! It's the Kreamer one for Porsche, but without the porsche badging? Where can we buy them, or just straight from their site? It looks beautiful.

It is the Porsche unit. I installed them in all my cars once I experienced the 1st unit in my 993.
The Porsche script was painted over. I don't care about the splash screen (Porsche emblem) for now but will likely replace that with Ferrari emblem when I have the time to figure that out

It was literally plug and play for most of the wires. No splice

What a great upgrade. What is the make and model? I see two different models for the 993; PCRUN2-US & PCCM-US

Excellent! Kreamer does ''unbranded'' units as well. If they didn't lock the splash screen it can't be that hard to erase it, but like you say, it's not a big bother since it's literally only on start up. It looks beautiful.

How is the screen for navigation? Clear enough? I guess a bit subjective as eye sight/how people use their nav is different.

The nav is great using Waze and Goggle maps. Screen size seems fine but isn’t most important…..Keep in mind she talks you thru it :):)

I really want this headunit in my BMW and Ferraris.

If someone can figure out how to modify / edit the Splash screen with custom startup/images, I will happily pay a service/help fee!

That's right! Here in Europe though sometimes street/town names are unnecessarily long, even on highways....Sometimes Google Maps lady rattles on for so long I've already taken the exit and she's still talking

Haven't looked at it again the screen is just large enough to see where you actually need to go though. I've always loved this unit as it looks as though it belongs there.

I had the same unit installed when I bought my 550 (also scratched out the Porsche branding, as you did). I have been trying to figure out how to hack the startup screen. If you figure it out, please post.

As mentioned most of the wiring is plug and play. I don't recall if any wires needed to be spliced but I don't believe so. I had done 5 of my cars (360, Z8, 993, 930, and the 550) with this unit so I don't recall everything but the 550 was the easiest because the plugs on the wire harness were the same.

I have added some pictures and the rear panel of the radio unit.
