This was included in a thread I started this am about the FIA finally announcing the Monaco change date but thought perhaps this deserves one of it's own.

With Monaco moved up one week, Turkey on May 30 looks more likely: The teams complained about the logistics of hauling stuff to Istanbul with only 1 week time between races.

Now it all hinges on Canada signing the contract. Keeping my Doenerkebab fingers crossed.

Andreas - it also moved the Historics back a week to 1 & 2 May - thank you FOM - the hotel changed dates without any penalty as it was pre-paid; my airfare had a $200 change fee and the airfare we purchased for our son and his wife was another $700 in change fees - Bernie owes me $900. He should be a good guy and give you free admission with all the frills since you will be the lone spectator :)

I hope I'll be because that would mean no traffic jam. :)

plus lots of hotel choices too!

wondering if Donnington will really pan out or if it will be "you have two weeks" until the time of the event; wondering about switching Brazil and Yas Marina? that make it more into spring time in Brazil and less rain?? wonder if Korea is for real in 2010?.......so many questions with the schedule. Interesting is that just announced today is the FIA GT1 Championship sked and their first race is Yas Marina.

Did you ever get all your arrangements changed to the correct date for Istanbul?

Right now I'm good with my Istanbul hotel. Got reimbursed for the place I had to cancel and have a valid reservation for the new date and place.

Hotel space is not a problem in a gigantic city like Istanbul, whether the GP sells out or not. Unlike Montreal or Indianapolis there is no price gauging. The city lives from tourism and has many times the GP crowds over on any given night.
