If you hear anything, Please post it here. I've heard nothing about Slidell, except real bad news, so any updates would be appreciated, Kelly
Kelly, I haven't heard anything about St. Tammany other than the Eastern part was hit hard. Stcy is really only getting updates on Jefferson and Orleans at her meetings.
I've been told that from Picayune south in the eye there is not one tree taller than 10 feet. You know how many trees I got?? Kelly
Kelly, I've Heard that Parc Du Lac and Deerfield in Mandeville only have wind damage no flooding. Hopefully true.

I just talked to someone In Hammond, so the phones there are getting better I understand that St. Tammany is under a lockdown right now including Mandeville. I think we are just going to sit tight in Texas . By the way STAY AWAY FROM ALL HAMPTON INNS if possible. We arrived at one last night they said they did not take pets which was fine we were going to leave them in the car until we could board them today.. The manager on duty told us it was not a problem since they were small ( Cavalier King Charles and Lasa Apsa) both under 20lbs. They are quiet inside dogs that do not bark. Well this morning the general manager told us we had to leave. I told her that we were on the way to board the dogs this am anyway because we needed a break from them. (traveling with 5 kids and two old people besides) She did not care and told us they had us scheduled to check out today anyway and they would not extend it. When we checked in we told them we would be there for a week min. So AVOID HAMPTON INN in the future.
Come to Val's house....really....we have a Mother in Law cottage, as well. You can stay there as long as you like.......the renter leaves tomorrow....give me a second or two to roll some paint and put the new carpet in...... Heck the driveway is 100' feet long, and we'll park the rest on the lawn.....
My Hampton inn is great. guy next door has 3 dogs and 2 turtles. He even made the front page of the local paper. Tulane is fine Frank. Kelly
Frank, Put the TV on CNN, they just showed video of Gulfport. You know those containers you inspect, well, I think they just broke the security zone. they are about 5 blocks from the beach. Kelly
Good to know. But you can be guaranteed they will not have any classes AT LEAST until January. Very ****ty for many people I know, specifically my cousin. He had just started an anatomy program that was a one year deal that covers your first year med classes, then the following year you are a 2nd year med student. But since med classes are year long in length, this really screws up everything for him and others.
Hi Guys, We are in Houston and my house is in Lakeview a block from Franco's house. Not 100% sure how high the water is on our block, but I have news that on Harrison Ave, which is about 3 blocks from us, the water is up to the roofs of some of the stores! So, I'm assuming our houses have water. I'm sure Franco has the 430 and Lotus parked in a high rise. Later, Bob
Guys please stay safe. CNN is showing the flooding everywhere! I'm in disbelief at the devestation. They are saying 80% of the city is under water. Here in Toronto we are expecting the remnents of hurricane with severe thunderstorms.
