I was able to purchase my exact Becker radio (but refurbished to include Bluetooth) from Beckerautosound on eBay recently. Image below. They are evidently a “good” vendor on ebay.

A 550 thread somewhere on here pointed me to this option and I really wanted to stay OEM so it was an ideal solution. The radio came in and was pretty banged up and they offered for me to send it back for another or whatever but I already had it installed — so whatever. Issue #1.

The MAIN issue is that I was supposed to be able to switch to an “auxiliary” mode to listen to Bluetooth BUT I do not have an auxiliary mode as an option (I forget if my original head unit had it). So now I must listen to Bluetooth over the “CD” mode while the CD is running (very quietly) in the back-back ground….which sucks.

Do you guys have an auxiliary mode or is there something I am missing ?

Would a competent audio shop be able to sort this ?

From what I vaguely remember, there should be an auxiliary mode - the CD mode is for the CD player that's in the unit, but the auxiliary mode controls the (optional) CD changer and could be used for something else.

I believe that if you hold the tone control button down for several seconds another menu will come up and one of the options is "aux on".

Please let us know if you end up finding an AUX mode, i know with the PORSCHE BECKER same exact radio you don't need to have a CD running, you just toggle and find AUX mode - This is how you do it

With the Radio "ON" press and hold the Tone button until the sub-menu comes up. 2. Press the soft-key labeled “Aux” until the screen displays “AUX Mode on”

Also there is another way see this video

Very interesting and thank you. When I tried that I was connected to several totally foreign “Channels/Options” I have never seen and “AUX” was one of them ! I can toggle it on/off. Regardless of setting or on/off it was putting out a foreign (non English) language news sounding radio station (but not my bluetooth output audio). I could not change this or know how.

There were also some selectable “CB like” numerical informational display options that all put out the same foreign language station.

Something to mess with I guess but thank you for the directions here lost in the woods.

I got it working by turning Aux on, and then selecting the "CDC" [CD Changer] option from the smart key menu at the top. Assuming your bluetooth adapter goes in via the CD changer port at the back. I got it working with a Yatour adapter, such that I could plug in a memory stick and a digital radio receiver.

OK I hold down the tone button for 8 seconds so I can turn on “Aux” on but no matter what I do (ie select M button to try to toggle to CD or turn radio off afterward as instructed in Video) nothing happens.

Once I get to Aux there is no option for what to actually do next. No buttons work while in this “mode”. I will keep plugging away !

LCD display on my Becker 4377 recently disappeared, making it a challenge to use guessing the buttons. Although removable displays can be found for sale, I sent my unit to UK specialist who replaced the circuit board responsible. At the same time they added an internal Bluetooth module which automatically cuts in for music streaming, phone navigation and calls. Tried for first time this week and works perfectly.
A good car radio engineer should be able to fit similar module. Guessing this may be better than plug in versions which use blue ISO on rear of unit but have no experience of latter.
Now only decision is where to mount microphone discretely for best clarity of calls. I’m told A pillar can be noisy so would value anyone’s experience on this?

There is so much back end programming set up in these head units. Multiple functions and country codes and various options specific to the build and country.

My “new” radio (same PN mind you) does not have the various prompts or options shown in the OE Ferrari Stereo book that came with the car (IE an option for country, etc…). That or it shows the option but they are non-functional.

When I hold down the tone key for 8 seconds I am presented with a set of mostly different options from what is in my manual none of which work.

    Awesome

I have used Becker Autosound in NJ for years on both much older radios as well as my Porsche and Ferrari radio.
Although I'm in Los Angeles I happened to be back east and went to visit the shop.

Tom has always gone above and beyond when I wasn't getting just how to do something on an upgrade.
    Try him .....

That was where I bought the radio from.
Arrived pretty banged up and does not work as advertised.

Lessons are expensive. Maybe I can send them my original radio and have them work on that one because this unit has totally different set of “nonsense” options in the sub-menu where you locate AUX.

Plug and play. Just tap mode button to get to AUX and you can listen to whatever is on your phone.

I just received my 612 yesterday. Today I called Tom at Becker Auto Sound to let him know I would want him to do an upgrade. I mentioned this thread to him as I've had good customer service from them. He suggested you call him directly and he'll see that you get a refund.

Seems like a pretty fair offer .....

BTW: I have no affiliation other than being a customer. I am also located here in Los Angeles...

    That’s fair I guess…and a huge inconvenience.

I already paid to have his “well worn” unit installed, I will just live with it.

Not the end of the world but again these head units are not as interchangeable as it seems.

Perhaps we'll meet at a F Club event or a drive or just for fun.

I'd be happy to show you how to pull the radio yourself. It's pretty easy and both of my Ferrari's came with the removal keys needed as part of the owners package.

I've gotten accustomed to these radios .. I've had them in a number of Porsche's also ...
