    Hi,

What are the options for upgrading the clutch in a manual 355 and associated costs e.t.c?

I drove a 355 manual GTS for 17k miles last year (they are meant to be driven!!) and the clutch needed changing when the car had reached at 19k miles... is this usual and is there a clutch i can fit when mine goes that will increase the mileage between clutches??

    thanks :)

    Nick

Clutch disc longevity has as much to do with driving style as it does construction. A car driven on the hwy will do better than one driven around town. Inching the car in and out of the garage doesn't help much either. As far as disc material goes a more aggressive disc material with stiffer springs or even no springs (challenge clutch) takes it toll on other components.
The best thing you can do for 355 clutch is to install a clutch cooler. It is an air scoop that funnels cool air to the clutch housing. I sold my mould to Valence sales. I believe they are a FChat sponsor.

Hi Dave, by any chance were you at NHIS in Nov at a PCA NCR DE? If you were I was there driving my wife's 968 Cab and we spoke a bit :) I have seen the Clutch Cooler on a 355 Challenge and was impressed with its fit and finish. Would it fit on a 348 as well?
