Upper/lower ball joint installation

I have new my lower ball joints going into the 308. The old ones had a slotted nut with a pin to hold the nut in place. The new one came with a nylon lock nut and no hole for the pin. The uppers (look fairly new) also have a nylon nut.

My question is what is the installation procedure for installing the hub assembly onto these ball joint?

I think I read a torque spec in the manual of 6.4 kgm for these nuts. Do I just crank these down to that spec and that is it?

I suppose the same can be applied to the steering ball joint, but with a small torque setting?
