So my big friend teflonso as gone bananas again...again he claims Red Bull tried to sign him, at silverstone..(well, he didn't said it directly, he sold the news to a crappy spanish newstoilet)...oh boy, i really feel sorry for him...well, in his version he refused to drive alongside Max..but hey , he's got a brand new pick up to race!
Honestly fernando, you're looking even worse than Andreas trying to upgrade lancetroll :) Image Unavailable, Please Login

Such obessession in detestation can only be explained by love...

I already talked about kvyat...he sucks....as for Bottas, not sure...he's a solid driver, fast, looks like a nice chap...but a bit boring, apart from a few great qualy laps (when he had the fastest car) haven't seen anything exciting during a race...he was a bit prone to hit Kimi.....wich obviously is a bad thing...and he drives for mercedes, so, not terribly excited about him either...

Keep in mind Pedro, that hate is not the opposite of love: it is a feeling of the same nature and intensity, and one is often happening after the other, or even at the same time. The opposive of love and hate is indifference...

...that being said, I agree with you Pedro: I find this rumour about a "supposedly proposed drive by Red Bull that he supposedly has declined" rather sad. I even would have said "pathétique" in french, but the french "pathétique" has a different meaning that "pathetic" for our american friends (the american "pathetic" is closer to our "ridicule", whereas our "pathétique" means "so sad and wide of the mark that it would make you cry").
Just like you, I agree that the rumor has probably been started by Fernando himself: outside the spanish press, nobody even mentioned it...and I am sure that if this was true, he would have jumped at the chance. The sad truth is that his train has passed...

Oh yes indeed. If we consider that almost every journalist, commentator, critic, observer, etc...agrees that the guy is a real samouraï at the Wheel in a race, has a strong fighting spirit, is able to push an uncompetitive car to the finsh line and win Grand Prix with it (remember 2012...).
No-one doubts that he still has it at 38 and deserves a good seat...and no-one wants to sign him because he sabotages the atmosphere with his derogatory remarks and maverick behavior (I just can't believe that Honda would have accepted him in a Red Bull after the "GP2 engine" remark at Suzuka, in front of the japanese public and the executives of the brand; everyone knows that you should not embarass japanese people, especially publicly)
I can't escape the feeling that he has "unfinished business" in F1, but has been his own worst ennemy, and was probably badly advised also (the leaving/staying comedy at Ferrari in the summer of 2014 when he asked Luca to be released of his contract, then changed his mind to ask to stay one more year, only to find they already had another option in the name of Vettel).
His train has passed indeed; I understand he is now practising for the Paris-Dakar...

The old "Gare Montparnasse" (Montparnasse Railway Station) before the terminal was destroyed and the station was pushed back (= south) 500m to clear the place to build the tower of the same name.
I happen to be right there right at this minute...

Actually, the real question is how to take the necessary steps to be sure to have left the place before 2024 and the Olympics; everyone is aghast at the scope of the changes they want to do, and no-one wants to pay the bills...

You know, we had the Olympics in London a few years ago, and I hardly noticed it. They predicted a big upheaval, massive traffic jams, and overcrowded public transports, but I experienced nothing of the sort, living on the other side of the capital. After the event, I visited the installations and found much regeneration in that area with a new housing complex, a large commercial zone with parking facilities, etc... So on the whole, the Olympics have left a rather positive footprint in London.
I have no idea about the impact the event will have on Paris though.

Let's not derail Pedro's thread, but...most people here didn't want the Olympics because:
    - the French usually always made wrong calculations about future costs, and the politicians diminish these further to make these look "acceptable".
    - Most major big cities have given up about Olympics; Rome threw the towel, and the Italian Olympics Committee was headed by a certain Luca Cordera di Montezemolo, who knows a thing or two about costs, and decided that it would not be wise.
    - The city of Paris promised that "no decision about candidating, or not, for the Olympics would be taken without a referendum"; when they realised that the referendum would reject the Olympics, they took the decision without referundum...
I have already bet a dinner or two on the rise of local taxes. But I hope I would have retired and left Paris by the time the Olympics will be happening...
