Hi all, I'm currently sat in a hotel car park on a business trip for 3 days and I can't lock my 360. I press the button on the remote to lock it and I hear it lock followed, a second or so later by an unlock. Never done this before. I dread leaving it unlocked and I suspect if I did and it were stolen, the insurance wouldn't pay out. I've tried opening and closing the doors, engine cover and luggage area but hasn't made a difference. If it makes any difference, it is a UK 360 manual spider. The roof is closed. Please advise as I don't fancy spending the night in it!!!!!!! Michael Sent from my BBF100-1 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
By any chance have you left another key inside the car? By default, it won't allow the car to lock if one of the keys is inside. This includes the trunk.
most likely is that one of the locking devices is getting hung up and doesn't reach full travel or needs adjusting. #1 what happens if you press down on the lock buttons, drivers side then passenger side while sitting in the car? #2 what happens if you use the key to lock the car from the outside? if someone really wanted to steal it, they would! more likely, you might come out and find someone sitting in it or asleep in it...
Assuming same as 430-with door open and looking at the latch, can you set the latch with your finger and does it flip over- this would be its position when door shut. Lifting outside handle should open latch. This proves latch not sticking. Do you have a key slot on the outside of drivers door, if latch working you should be able to lock manually from outside
Have you tried locking with the keys? Worst case you could probably manually lock the passenger door from the inside, open the boot, turn the battery disconnect, then manually lock the drivers door with your key?
That sounds like a good idea - many thanks all!!!! Sent from my BBF100-1 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Your concern is that if you don't "lock" you fabric roof car someone will steal it???? Any punk with a knife can cut through the roof & get in. Granted if it's locked & they unlock the door from the inside it would sound the alarm. I've owned a couple convertible cars in my time & NEVER locked any of them. I also never left anything of value in them. As others have posted the door lock mechanism has cables & micro switches that can get out of adjustment. Depending how "handy" you are, you can systematically verify each door's adjustment to isolate the problem. The driver's & passenger door locks are linked by micro switches inside each latch mechanism. When you manually push down on the inner door lock it will lock (or unlock) the opposite door. I had a locking issue that was troubleshot down to the passenger door latch mechanism, due to the lack of use I guess.
