Hi John, Thanks for posting these nice pictures! For historical reasons, could you please tell us the chassisnumber of your Urraco? Best regards, Marcel
An Urraco expert, very nice! Thank you for this info. Do you collect Urraco chassisnumber? Anybody else here? Best regards, Marcel
Not the money, but to find a one should be the problem, these are VERY exclusive cars!!! I advice you to drink a few bottles of Gianti with Dr.Stefano Passini. His white Silhouette, together with your S1, would make a perfect couple!! Bella Macchina!! Ciao! Marcello Image Unavailable, Please Login
Marcel My chassis # is 15948. I don't remeber the body # off the top of my head. The car has been absolutly trouble free anda ball to drive. This is a great thread. I'll have to post some more pics of the restoration. The paint and interior of my car are original.
I wouldnt go as far as saying im an expert... ive been looking for a urraco on and off for years so i have a keen interest in them... so yes i do take notice on the chasssis numbers. Raymond- yes i suppose there's blame to be shared with the cheetah which I believed later went to chrylser, AMC and spun back to lambo to become the LM002 and later became the US Army Humvee. Some how our governor Arnold made it fashionable to drive these polluting monsters on the streets. warm regards hf
how about a request for new photo's and information of these 2 rare "Bob Rallye" and "yellow Silh test mule urraco" cars. #1 pic was scanned of my "Supreme Amongst" book which showed attention being given to them after years of sitting outside in the factories Junk Yard. I have video footage of "bob" taken for me by Jim Kaminski back in 1988 when it sat derelict outside to a point where interior was even trashed. I thought about inquiring about the car then. shortly after the car was bought, restored by the Lambo of Japan club. #2 is scanned pic of the urraco "bob" 4valve head from "consumer report book" #3 is a scanned composite of a of an article of 'bob" in the Rosso mag issue in 2004 after the restoration. you can see it doesnt have the 4v head with slide throttle mech injection. other interior details shows the didnt replicate the orange color miura like seats. I still havent gotten the article translated yet. only info i have found mostly has been regurgitated from the jean Francois Marchet book. I did kick around the idea of doing a "Rally Bob" replica with Mr. Wallace himself years ago. He mostly was trying to talk me out of it and i soon learnt some of the fundamental problems associated with the urraco platform and drive train. please dont ask me what those are because i wouldnt want to tarnish the spotty reputation for i of these remarkable little lambo any further...lol i would be a treat to see either one of these two cars in the flesh one day. ciao for now hf Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Guys I joined today so just wanted to say Hi! I know Marcello and Raymond and have complemented Emilio on his lowbody in the past. I would like to introduce myself to David S, every time I see your cars at a show/meet I can never find you David to introduce myself! I am a LCUK member and am rebuilding (very slowly) a Silhouette. Smurf Beautiful car! And nice moody photo in the garage I can probably help you with your bearing request do you still need one? Emilio Is the 2 litre car a brown colour? I saw this car at Padova a couple of years ago. Jamesark Fantastic colour, and the wheels look stunning, is that the car in Australia that belonged to the guy who made the wheels? Are they still available? plus that exhaust and the one on the yellow car dont date the cars or look out of place IMHO, just look great. rcpilotmike Thats one clean and straight looking car, did you rebuild that completely? Stunning! As for Silhouette prices I believe currently they are around $100,000 £50,000 62,000Euros I can confirm the red Urraco with a sun roof is a 3 litre. Ok think I am done, looking forward to more V8 posts. Best regards to all Martin
Hi Martin, Welcome, very nice to have you on board! Here's a nice starter picture for you as well Ciao! Marcello PS: And good luck with your very slowly Silly ;-) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey Marcel Thanks for those, it just makes you want to have been there then to try to buy those cars, when I went in 91 there was nothing like this out back, i have a pic i will look out amazingly there were Bravo wheels and a sort of fibreglass Diablo, and a vicious dog!, but nothing like prototypes rusting in a pile... Martin
Thanks Martin, your right- the previous owner manufactured the wheels - I know of 4 cars in Australia with them. The first set in 18 in went on my black QV countach, basically a group of us funded the manufacture. He was advertising on the registry. If you want to make contact with him please PM me. Rcpilotmike - your car is absolutely gorgeous - well done!
wow, that junk yard was a gold mine. i wonder if they will restore some of those old urraco prototypes. you can clearly see some of the influences they had on the x/19 and 308gt4. when i was out to the factory in 97, most of the junk yard was cleaned up. thanks for posting... anyone else have any vintage "junk yard" pics of the 70's and 80's to post? cheers hf Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The junk yard was sold to Tonino, most of the early prototypes are now in a let's say "restored" way in his museum in Dosso di Cento.
i know they are hard to get, to me it only adds to their appeal i agree 1000% a white silhouette would be the perfect match for the S1.... but unfortunatly i believe Pasini sold the silhouette to factory museum (where it lives since some years) ....is it correct?
hi Martin good to have you here please post pics of the resto! the 2 liter is red, i saw the one you are talking about but is an other car this one will be completed this year: engine and transmission already rebuilt (engine has bigger pistons and should be faster than a 250 when finished)
Yes, it's the car in da Museo, but I don't know if he actually sold it, or that it is parked there, still owned by him? Ciao! Marcello
Wow, You think maybe he still owns it Marcel? Interesting.... From the conversations I have had with Stefano he has always given me the impression he has nothing to do with that car or Silhouettes in general now, he also told me he has given all information he had on any cars to the factory.... Which is a great pity Martin
Hi Martin, No, I just didn't know, but it could have been. I just knew that the white car at the museo was the Passini car, that's all It was a question actually, for somebody who might know. If Stefano told you this, it should be correct. Great pity indeed, but perhaps one day...keep on dreaming! Cheers! Marcel
Hi Emilio Sadly no more pictures than I sent you already but for anyone else interested, here is a before and after......bit of a difference.. Marcel Yes maybe Stefano will buy another one and come back to us! Martin Image Unavailable, Please Login
Then manage attachments search for the file on your computer click upload, and wait for a few seconds, the cation of the picture have to appear, perhaps you were too fast.. if it takes too long, perhaps you have to resize the picture smaller. Good luck mate! Marcel Image Unavailable, Please Login
