I want that car so bad.
Well, I am still waiting for confirmation from the Urraco owners on all the belt and bearing parts. Are they the correct ones? Weather is warmer now in Colorado and I would like to get them replaced so I can join the VLG Bulls run to Billings. Tom/Colorado.
i have one original P250 owner manual if anyone is looking Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I got my answers from VLG over the weekend. I am a bit disappointed that no one from L-Chat provided any answers/suggestions.
#1502 getting ready for Italy, Not quite done but getting there. Glass louvers, carbon running boards, front carbon clip painted to match car, trunk lid, side gills and grills need to be added to the body but we will make it! Very cool but strange at the same time. Never thought of a heavily modified Urraco before. But Damn!....you got those guys working hard
Hehehehe that is the point.. Bring the car modern but keep the basic lines and concept. Here is where we started Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow, the Urraco is way out there. I am not sure I like the the headlights mod. It reminds me the Porsche 928 with a big air dam from the front.
wait until its done.. Its art and as art some will like it some will not its subjective. See through louver frame ready for primer and prep then paint then affic the see through goodness... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice example, I think that it's easy to made modification to have a 2.5 as there's not a lot of differences between the two engine...
My personal feeling on this is that I would keep as it left the factory. half a liter is not that important to me to mess with originality. There is a history behind the 2liters. Many years down the road, it just might be a valuable thing. Especially since some got modified. ...but that valuable may translate into more desirable. There many car where the smaller engine version is worth more. Smaller is not always a bad thing.
Not sure it is right for the Urraco, I like also originality, but when you change from 2.0 to 2.5 you change nothing else on the car, it's appears always as a P200. At that time I work on the 3 liter engine so I put a Jalpa engine in the car, It's always the same car (except for the ignition with the Bosch system)but to drive it's really a different car with better torque. When the 3 liter will be ready I'll refitted in the car.
I havent driven neither... so which one is more lively to drive, a smog choked 2.5 P111 in a heavier DOT package or the smaller 2.0 P117 with lighter bumpers and no smog equipement?
Both cars are slow in today's standard. Lively and fast are not what you will find in a Urraco. If you want a fast and lively car, I would suggest you to buy a Caterham.
then whats the point of enlarging a 2.0 to a 2.5L? i beg to differs on the how slow the urraco is in its day, it all depends on which model. stepping up to the 3.0 transforms the car. to me from my brief drives euro spec cars, the 3.0 cars feel like an entirely different car from a P250 and on par with an early carb euro 308. for reference, ive driven plenty of hyper fast modern cars and have tracked caterhams. i guess my point is a 4 cammer 3.0 is plenty enough of a motor for spirited drive in a vintage urraco. warm regards
I agree. But I myself never look at any of my Lambos with speed in my head. Just not about speed for me. History, design, and build is what gets me.
Yes, I agree with Peter. You are driving a piece of beautiful art in motion. P300 is indeed more power and faster than P250, P200, and 111. I do not know if P200 is faster than the original equipped 111. My 111 has Weber carbs, euro headers, and no smog equipment. It makes great engine music and feels lively and fast mainly due to the great sound effect. Is it a really fast car? Not really. I think all three Urraco models are "fun" car to have and drive and will put a smile on your face.
