Martin, this picture demonstrates the difference in colour between your rosso speciale car and rosso. Next time you bring it to Italy it will be interesting to compare it with Davide's arancio car...

This is a good opportunity to re-post two pictures taken outside Reparto Esperienze in 1978, that appeared recently in the Miura thread. Both feature the M1 prototype taken from a different angle, but there is something in each for the Urraco enthusiast.

In the first, the car to the left of the M1, has the small round indicator repeater ahead of the side marker, typical of a P250 bodied P111. This is the 'orange mule' fitted with a 3.0L engine, driven by the late Stanislao Sterzel to test P7 tyres in late '75, prior to the testing of the snorkel car in the winter of '75/76. The orange mule was fitted with Bravo wheels and black spats and one of them can just be seen above the tail of the M1. It was Sterzel himself who told me that this car was orange and until now I have only seen b&w pictures of this car. This car is not to be confused with the yellow mule which had a P300 body and was used for Jalpa development.

And, at bottom right, is the unclad US bumper frame of a Luci del Bosco Espada. This is the US bodied car that was tested by Sterzel fitted with P7 tyres.

In the second, the Espada can be seen next to the M1 and behind that is an arancio Urraco with boot badge and chrome bumpers. I have little doubt that this is 15008, the fifth production car, that was used by Reparto Esperienze and was never consigned.

To my eyes 15008 and the orange mule are not the same colour. This makes me think that the 'orange mule' was actually rosso Miura...

 

Yes, I’m near Munich, I bought it many years ago from a collection in Barcelona. It’s the former car of Hilmar Kuhn LCCG. I mean it’s arancio or rosso speciale too.

Hei, if you send your VIN to P300V8 ,he can easily find out if the colour is the factory delivered colour or not. Might be interesting. I did not find another car with a colour, named "rosso speciale", in the factory records I have seen. Talk soon. Martin

Very interesting picture with a "Lamborghini" boot badge on the 1971 Turin prototype. I've never seen it before.

The 1973 New York autoshow Urraco is likely #15020, a very early Urraco.

 

It was orange car had the Lamborghini script on the boot lid...
