Wow, I was quite impressed that this car actually sold for 15100 dollars. Should this car ever be in presentable condition again it will be a very expensive car. One wonders what happened to the bodypanels in the back considering the heat, possibly slightly warped etc. besides ALL the other stuff that this thing needs. I would have paid about 7000 for it.

j***r and g***1 were the main of many bidders. Interesting to dissect the auction.

With one hour to go and auction at $11,000 g***1 went straignt to $15,000. g***1, has bought very little on ebay, nothing recently.

j***r, who won the auction has recent purchases of electronics, speakers, webcams, etc. And he sniped the auction with 8 seconds to go.

Sounds like the emotional competition of the auction got the better of these two guys more than the rationality of the situation. The seller must love it.

FYI, I snipe using bidnip.com who are linked with our northwest Ferrari family.

That is the highest I have seen a burned car go for in over 10 years. Not too long ago a beater/runner would have barely brought that much. But I wouldnt get too excited just yet. It would take a few cars selling higher to show a real trend.

you're absolutely right, i was just kidding ( and making an eye on a thread somewhere on prices.
I was indeed looking at this car myself but Us$ 15k+ is, in my humble opinion, very high. To high for me anyway./

edeit: i would not be surprised if we see the car back on ebay soon

This one does look very nice. Seller might be caught in the economy looking for a quick sale.

No to mention that I'm 99.99 percent sure that this exact car was just recently sold in CT. The asking price was $19500 or a hair under that. So, whoever bought it and is selling it - did not get burned all that much.

Sound to me like someone bought it as a "fixer upper" as15K was their budget for a Ferrari -running or not, right?

Well, you know, there's the stamping back in the engine compartment, you need to weld that in for a "right" job! LOL!

    That silver /black '82 is a good deal.......a few rust bubbles...so what???

Me too, and I have a funny story about bidnip. A couple years ago, I bid on something using bidnip and there was some kind of glitch. Bidnip said I won the auction, but eBay said I didn't. I sent an e-mail to ask what happened and the guy at bidnip who responded apologized for the computer glitch and said "I see you were bidding on 308 parts....let me give you 50 free snipes for the inconvenience." I thought that was very very cool of them. I have used them ever since, no glitches ever again, and I have won some sweet auctions using it. (I shouldn't let out this secret!) I got a set of authentic 16" Ferrari QV wheels for my 308 for a really great price (under $2k) a couple years ago because of bidnip. Two thumbs up.
