Hi, It seems a fair few of you have had issues with the 'box on your 430. Is this a fault that Ferrari is aware of and is it limited to US cars? I was under the impression that the 'box on thses was far superior to the one on the 360? Someone reassure me - mine arrives in 2 months! James
It's hard to tell if this is any kind of a problem. It seems rather isolated IMO. Apparently they are checking for this on newer deliveries. That combined with a full factory warranty leaves you with little worries.
It's hard to tell if this is a major problem or not. I heard it involves a small number of cars. The good news is that the problem is a TSB instead of a recall. You won't regret ordering the F1 transmission. I've had 4 F1 Ferraris and this time Ferrari has gotten it right. I wouldn't order the car any other way.
They are checking by Vin numbers. Could be an unhappy Italian? My F1 is SUPER!!!! You'll love it!!!!!
Apparently they are replacing the whole gearbox on a number of cars. I spoke to a guy at the weekend who will be getting the one on his car replaced. The dealer does a series of pre-defined checks provided by Ferrari to determine if the gearbox is one of those affected. He was told at the time he took delivery...
Just got my 05 F430 back after I had problems with the tranny. I bought used with 530 miles. After driving for 2 days, the transmission wouldn't stay in gear!! Ferrari of Washington did a software upgrade and everything is fine. It is a TSB and not a recall.
