I believe in the context of the history of this thread, it is more of an ironic statement than a sarcastic one. Without reading the whole thing, I'll just put it this way: it hasn't gotten to almost 5,000 posts by everyone believing that it would happen Therefore, the absurd doubts typed here, aren't sincere beliefs, but rather, meant to poke fun at the one's who didn't believe. Myself and others, spent wayyyyyyy to much time defending this project for a while. It's our way of saying......'nanny nanny booo booo'
Ok so I still don't have my tickets. At this point I really wanted three day GA and didn't expect it to "Sell Out" though I'm sure there is plenty of GA room. Anyone think they'll release more GA seats after the premiums "sell out"?
Still two bleachers open, as I see it. Did you try to Volunteer? I am in as a Track Wayfinder, I think it will be like the Yellow Hats at Indy. FCA still has packages??? That includes on site parking, apparently...
Yes, might have to do that. No, Hmmm, I actually would however I'm trying to attend with friends that are going. How do you mean? I'm not a member. I guess here is my motivation to join.
I got an email from COTA saying public parking passes were on sale. Check with them about parking. Mark
I got an e-mail from COTA about a $200 three day parking passes. Unless I misunderstood something...... I also don't have tickets yet, as I also wanted GA tickets ( don't really have much choice) and when I went to purchase them they were all gone. I do believe that there are going to be some one way or another sooner or later. If I have to pay $20 a ticket over retail to some guy on a corner on Friday, be it. I also signed for volunteer. I did receive an itinerary from COTA, but I am not sure if I should be expecting something else or not. Also if you sign as a volunteer, you need to attend some sort of training, which is is in October and it may be an issue with some people like me, who are not from Texas. I am going with a rented RV no matter what, with my whole family. Thinking about it, both me and my wife, were saying that it will be an adventure and we have every intention to have fun the whole time, whether we end up watching the race live or on TV. Having said this, I would really appreciate any help finding 4 GA tickets from this great community and I am looking forward to seeing some f-chatters in Austin.
Governor Rick had fun few days between the F1 race at Monza, and getting the royal treatment by Ferrari. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLAdczemvqY&feature=player_embedded[/ame]
That's actually pretty cool. I imagine my liberal relative in Austin probably had something useless to say regarding this on his fb page. I haven't logged in for a long time, maybe I should post this?
Don't forget the guy back in post #2899 who said there would be no race in 2012. Who was that guy again?
Entry to race (all 3 days), access to Ferrari paddock and hospitality areas. Got it via email from Ferrari NA for $3,250.
COTA gets FIA approval following Whiting visit Tuesday 25th September 2012, 18:39 by Ryan Wood © Circuit of the Americas The Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, has gained FIA approval following a visit by safety delegate Charlie Whiting on Tuesday. With the final layer of asphalt having been laid last week in time for the inspection, the circuit has met the strict guidelines outlined by the governing body and has therefore gained the Grade 1 race license needed to host Formula 1. After a two hour inspection Whiting declared himself happy with the construction progress and the overall quality of the track. "The track design is fantastic, the quality of the workmanship is excellent and I have no concerns at all," he said. "This will be a very unique Grand Prix and will be ready on time. Alot of types of corners that will provide a lot of overtaking opportunities," he added. The race is set to debut on the calendar on November 18th, though a final FIA inspection will take place in November a few days before the race to ensure all facilities are up to standard.
