Trouble brewing! COTA didn't build the garages to spec ; they are far too small; the teams are meeting with Charlie to discuss; health & safety won't allow them to work in the garages; Bernie won't allow them to work under tents/tarps... Holy God, what a mess
Mini Stonehenge. Edit, OMG, they're in Austin. -F [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTZXp0dSzTw[/ame]
That has to be more than a coincidence! ["**** the napkin!" ] They did? Oops! I guess it's left as an exercise for the reader exactly *how* F1 was "going to handle it"..... Charlie dons a tool belt the week ahead and throws in some wires? I have a suspicion SRT Mike is gonna be along shortly. Big Tex - Whatcha up to the next few weeks? Looks like there may be a little side-job coming up RSN...... Cheers, Ian
"Oops!" And here was I under the impression "everything's bigger in Texas!" They may have been able to handle it in Europe, but flyaways are a whole different can of worms. I suspect many dollars are about to change hands - Health & Safety will have a shiny new HQ next year..... Cheers, Ian
Kind of busy, at Shell Fuel Labs...BUT if Dr. Lisa Lilley calls, I am all over it. baby!! No Facebook, apparently... This sounds odd after the Track Inspection last month was all praise....last time I checked, The Pits ARE connected to the Track??? I can park TWO more Ferrari transporters, in the alley on South Congress where I keep my 308GTB, but I'll admit the fireman is nervous, that the City might notice....and require "Mass gathering" PERMITS!!! It seems they even license the Raves...
I thought SRTMIke ordered the electrical Infrastructure...... In fact, I'm SURE he did, there was a substation.... Let me get this 15KV landed here....brb.....
I hope neither the garage size, nor the electrical rumors, are true. While I chose not to give my money to COTA, I still pulling for them to succeed and put on a good show. Mark
COTA says garages fit FIA specs http://www.statesman.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/racing/entries/2012/10/05/cota_garages_not_too_small.html/?cxntfid=blogs_formula_austin
good news as that track is looking quite fantastic. I cannot wait to do a vintage event there sometime in the future

She travels with the team, and gives up chocolate for the season.....no she's not here in Houston! I wish, I love that voice ......
How are the plans coming along for the BIG Tex BQ? Waiting for the secret handshake.......will we have time to practice at home before the event? Can we bring anything from AZ? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rumor: Health and safety inspections are not allowing the COTA to open, the garages are an improper size for a functioning race.
We were on the border about going to the race in November. Now, a possible health issue may prevent the trip. I have two rooms. One in downtown Austin, and an efficiency in north Austin. Both were around $250/night, three nights. We should have test results around November 1, but I would like to find someone interested in these room now as a back-up. Obviously, I will be giving one up anyway, so instead of cancelling, possibly another FChatter would be interested. Let me know.
