According to the news today Tom Delay is asking for a change of venue for his upcoming trial. Seems he thinks Austin Texas is too liberal.
He is right. We have lots of bleeding heart liberals here.....we are the state capital and we do have the university of Texas downtown and I'd say musicians too. However, that is unfair...my friend Jimmie Vaughan is NOT a liberal in any shape or form.
An awful lot of "no's" given as answers at a county hearing... http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=298064 I love the non-chalant cavalier attitude to moving a 20" pipeline (which has yet to be studied) and construction starts by december... Haven't hired traffic flow analysis experts yet... USF1-partDOO...
Hardly surprising that leftist Travis County/Austin City commissioners would give a plan like this a hard time. If the commissioners had their way Austin would be one huge commune. Eckhardt( the main lady speaking) is as leftist as can be(as was her father). In the end this project makes Austin more attractive, and thus it will also make the city and county more money, and as a result there is no way it will be turned down. Good to see the laughing commissioner show her true colors and acknowledge that the system she represents is why projects like this take so long to get off the ground.
Regardless of her leanings,... Tavo et al better get some answers quickly. Peter Windsor had better answers during the USF-None debacle than that mouthpiece had...
I was surprised to see such leftist politicians in a Texan government entity. They looked as if they were transplanted straight from Europe. At any rate this also showed how unprepared the USGP folks are and that's a bad sign.
Regardless of the political leanings of anyone on that panel (and certainly no one appeared to be openly hostile), the fact that the track promoters could have sent a representative who was so woefully unprepared speaks volumes. "Moving dirt" by December? Give me a break. This was never going to happen for 2012 and most likely not at all. Y'all can serve me up some crow (Tex-Mex of course) if I'm wrong.
With how down to the wire Korea is becoming does that make this GP more feasible? Would Bernie and FOM disregard rules for us to?
If true, can anyone in the area of the track site give us a report on equipment and material being staged, trailers for the site management and staff. Post a few pics if able. Until then its already behind schedule
That was the beginning of the end for the USF1 team: FChatters taking pictures of an empty parking lot and visiting a building where there wasn't a whole lot going on. BUT: I'm sure Matchett and Varsha will be in Austin at the ground breaking ceremony reporting euphorically about it.
At the Korean GP, didn't Tilke mention that things were moving along in Austin for a track to be built.
