Hi everyone. I have a set of Morimoto LED back tail lights that I purchased from a US vendor for my Ferrari 360 (2002 EU spec model). When connecting the new lights, everything goes pretty much haywire.. the fog lights become the blinkers, the back lights become the stop lights the parking lights become the reverse.. a total mess.

Is this a common issue or is there some kind of a conversion harness kit that can get connected between the car's harness and the lights' or is there a modification needed somewhere in the car's relays or boxes to make this work? I've been going crazy with this for a few days and the car went through the hands of a couple electricians, nobody can get this to work or sorted out. Last resort, I'll have to sell the lights.

    Thanks a lot :)

US lights will not work in a euro car. You need to move a couple wires around to get them to work properly. For the life of me I can't member which, but it's easy to figure out with a power probe or test light.

Hi tbakowsky and thanks a lot for the reply. Yeah, we've been tinkering with wires for a while and there is always something that fails. Also, we haven't figured out if the 4 lights are all the same or not (all together or as pairs one for turn signaling and the other for backup). But swapping them around so far hasn't made a difference. Plus unlike European models, American cars are nor required to have back fog lights so some extra figuring out is needed on that. I'm actually contemplating just placing a nicely placed third light somewhere on the back as a fog light and leave them Morimotos alone on that (for regulations purposes only one fog light is required, no need for too). Either way.. working in it. Thanks again :)

I have the Morimoto lights on my European car. You need to buy a European wiring harness when ordering the Morimoto lights. I had the "first generation" harness so I had to reverse the wires in the connectors. This problem seems to be solved with the newer version of the Eurpopean harness. The 4 lights are the same. I don`t have the fog lights connected.

Amazing looking F430, thanks for sharing! We have contacted Morimoto just about a hundred times for the past few weeks to get support on and ask them about a solution or a wiring/harness conversion kit and literally not ONE reply from them.. ever. Their support and post sales service is simply non-existing, null. Thus I have been left stranded with this and as much as I really do like the lights, they are the first and last product I will ever buy from them. Thanks again and congrats on your car, killer :)

You hear back from them yet? I'm trying to find the answer too for my euro 360!

I have a 2001 Euro 360 and I had to repin all the contacts to get them to work. The advantage was that I was able to customize the pattern, rather than have them illuminate as they do out of the box. I think the "all 4" lights illuminating the same looks cheap. I now have the outside lights for the taillights, the inside and outside for brakes, the turn signals only working on the outside lights and the reverse only working on the inside lights. Looks stock but updated using this pattern.

I have to say I am less than satisfied with Morimoto, however. One of them was defective out of the box and the return process is less than favorable. They make you take videos which is impossible because the lights are so bright on the working portion that it interferes with the camera so getting a detailed view of the non-working portion is impossible (one of the turn signals only illuminates half of the circle on mine - some of the LEDs are out). I asked if I could send it back to test and they said NO. Not very friendly.

So, if you have a problem (if you drive your car daily like mine, you likely will - these look great but are far from OEM quality), plan on spending $300 per cluster for a replacement.

Sorry to hear that the company is giving you the run around! For the amount of money we spend on their product vs their cost for manufaturing, you'd think they wouldn't hesitate to satisfy the customer.

On the other hand, you repinned the set for your Euro to exactly the specs I'm looking. I agree, the look of constant dual tail lights isn't for me and gives off Corvette vibes. Do you mind sharing with us how you pinned them so we can achieve similar results?

    Thanks!

I know this will scare you, but I literally cut the plugs off of both the car harnesses and the light harnesses, then started testing each and labeling them on paper by color. When I found the pattern I wanted, I duplicated the other side.

In replacing the plugs, I used WAGO in-line connectors. That way, you can reuse them or move the wires if needed. Works like a charm!

Yep, that for sure scares me lol.

Did you keep track of how you wired it the outside and inside lights and what wires attached to what? Would you be able to post photos of both the inside and outside harnesses so we can see what's connecting to what?

I am going to try to write something that makes sense and I will post it. Either way, you will need to do some cutting. I was unable to remove the pins for the plugs so I just bit the bullet, closed my eyes and SNIP!

We appreciate you writing something up for us! Once you do your write up, I will be getting a set of these to splice so I dont have to splice the factory harness.

Morimoto make it 10 times more difficult by using black wires for all their wiring. Do you have a 360 or 430 (I assume USA).

I've added some colours to an image from the Morimoto tutorial for the F355 (USA)

In my graphic... Amber = turn. Yellow = sidelights. Light grey = reverse. Red = brake.

Sorry, I don't know if the F430 wiring is the same. Is there a Morimoto tutorial for this car?

I have a Euro 360, I believe @DiSomma6 also has one but wired it in the format I like. Morimoto for sure makes it difficult by using all black wires, even more so that (I believe) the harnesses wont work with Euro spec vehicles as they are setup for USA models.

I did help someone rewire a USA Morimoto harness to suit a Euro F355, but Erik should have all the details for a Euro 360.

Just looking at the Morimoto tutorial for the F360 (USA version).... On a Euro car, to get what you want (using the USA adaptor), it looks like there are a few wires to cut and some wires to move to different pins and plugs.

Not sure what you're going to do with the fog light. Add a pin to the Morimoto plug and splice it into the marker light/s?
