I have a US spec fog light (RH, new) that I bought some time ago for spare (for my Euro/UK 348) thinking that it is the same as Euro spec ones but now, after checking it in detail for the first time, I see it is not totally. Can someone please confirm whether the US spec fog lights have only one halogen bulb as shown on the drawing below (the bulb is H3 but the US Owner's Manual says H1). At the location where I have shown that there is no bulb, there is a hole in the reflector but no bulb attachment bracket and no wiring for it. I would like to be sure that lack of one halogen bulb is not a defect before I decide to sell it on.

Thanks Jeff, I looked at this site but did not realise that you can get the pictures by clicking on the numbers. By looking at the pictures of the US back covers (item 15) and the spade connectors for the halogen bulbs, I can see that there is only one pair meaning the US fog lamps have only one halogen bulb thus there is nothing wrong with the US fog lamp I have.

So, the Euro fog lamps contain two halogen bulbs: Fog Light and Daytime Flasher and the US lamp has only one halogen: Fog Light (no flasher). Both, the Owner's and the Workshop manuals show that these bulbs are H1 but they are actually H3, in the US as well as in the Euro lamps.

The photos are actually a new thing since they revamped the website a few month ago (or the amount of photos anyway).

As you say I imagine that the extra lamp in euro spec is for daytime running lights.

The second halogen bulbs on Euro cars are not for running lights but for "Daytime Flasher" - you can flash them as a warning by pulling the light switch stick towards the steering wheel.
