Hi. Is there a way to tell if my 1983 Mondial QV is a US or European version? I noticed there is a difference in some of the parts. The owner’s manual that came with the car says US version, but after multiple owners not sure it is the original. The identification labels that should be on the driver’s door are gone. Thanks

Wow. Thanks Steve. The decoder worked great. So my car is a Europe version despite the manuals that came with the car. Probably explains a few issues I have had with parts and specs (fuel filter, etc.)

You mean it was born a euro version ;). If it came into the US legally, it would've gotten some modifications/additions. Often these changes get removed/returned to euro form (and some not too well/correctly), but you could still have some present. If you can post some pics of the engine bay, I would be glad to comment about your present status.

The fuse box has a different number of fuses, among lots of changes to the wiring. EU 24 fuse positions, US 28.

Looks pretty stock euro to me -- if it ever had any US federalization modifications, they aren't there anymore. (Don't know anything about the 2V plenum, but, if a very early production QV SN, maybe it could make sense. I'm recalling that Mondial QV was the first QV model released.)

No air pump pulley, or valve cover air pump bracket like US version. Coolant overflow tank also a different shape than on my US 83 QV coupe. Yours looks to be a Euro version to me.

Always wondered how an Oct83 Cab shows as an 83 and an 84 on docs... maybe a late 83 turned into an 84 leftover
