I have a 2001 360 spider euro version. At some point and its journey to America someone put USA engine computers in it. The car runs great and I don't have any problems, other then a check engine light for the evap system. Euro cars did not come with evap and my American computers are looking for one which throws the evap code. Normally this would not be a problem but since my state requires a OBD inspection it will not pass with the check engine light on. Is there anyway to program the evap out of the USA computers through An ecu tuner or should I just look for a set of used euro ECUs? Thanks

My euro 360 has the evap system? It has no pre-cats and different main cats. Not sure what other differences. You could clear the code for inspection? I cleared an evap code and it did not come back.

your best route, to my eyes, are to contact somebody to have an ecu flash, back to the euro spec. that's all

Problem is when I clear the code and drive the car to reset monitors, I can't get all the monitors to reset before the code comes back.

When you reset a cel there are 8 monitors which check different systems of the car that have to be "ready" when you go for an inspection. My car is showing 5 ready and 3 not ready. One would have to drive the car in order to "ready" theses monitors in other words, complete a drive cycle. Problem is I can't complete a drive cycle without getting a cel from my evap system.

Some 99s have a similar issue with the monitors not setting. USA 99s were essentially euro cars.

The solution on the 99s is to have your licensed dealer send the ecus to Ferrari of North America to be reflashed. Worth asking if they can do the same on an 01 euro.

Euro cars did come with an evap system. I suggest it be diagnosed to see what is wrong.
