Congratulations Chad! We look forward to hearing about your ownership experiences!

I wonder if we could say Carbon is an Avatar for hire. That is, you see everything he sees as if you were there.

Now if we could only taste, smell, feel and hear what he tastes, smells, feels and hears...

    Or maybe not.

    Hey Joe,

Out of curiosity, is it still possible to send an F40 to Italy and have Michelotto refit the car to LM specs? What might be the cost of such an endeavor... out of curiosity. Having seen the pics of the blue car and read the history, apparently the modification is not unheard of, right?

    Thanks,
    Vj

Yes it can be done, Michelotto would be only too happy to oblige. They can do a full LM conversion, or some under-the-skin upgrades to simply make the car more focused.

Note though that the blue Pilot Aldix (74045) car was actually converted in period to run at Le Mans in 1995 & 1996.

Sorry I forgot to comment on cost, and to be honest I have never asked and simply dont know. I suppose it all depends on the extent of the upgrades required.

Thanks for the speedy reply. One more -probably not the last, sorry- question: do you know where Nick Mason sourced his redesigned rear plexiglas window? Approximate cost? The inability to distinguish black &whites in the my r-v mirror is getting irksome =^) Thank You

Also should be noted that the car would still be considered a "fake" LM. Even if they convert it. Since it is not an official car like 74045 etc.

BUT, as long as it's known to be a converted "regular" F40 those guys are the best in the world to do any upgrades, that is for sure. And the thing would be a beast. If I recall, didn't someone in England have theirs converted to near LM spec about a year ago?

Well perhaps fake is a strong word. After all, it only becomes a fake if it is being represented as an original.

"Congratulations to the new owner of 92779, and Jas you have an e-mail on this potential event candidate."

After a trouble free transaction through Joe and a major service 92779 will find a new home in the Heart of Dixie. Thanks Joe for a good, honest, hassel free transaction.

Have been looking for about 5 months in earnest and this one fit the bill for how I plan to use it.

Never driven an F40; guess I'll have to learn.

Well it has almost 14,000 miles already, and he bought it to continue its tradition of regular use.
