Ask Uwe Meissner of Modena Motorsport www.modena-motorsport.de for F40 LeMans parts. He has some, see link "Verkauf" ..."rare parts" on his website. Regards Johnny
Mr Sackey i would like to ask you something.. I didn't understand the adjustable suspension. Was there any possibility to wear a suspension like this in both versions (USA - EUROPE) ?
There are a few all-too-brief ones, here is one of it at the 1995 Le Mans. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlZzGHigHCQ[/ame]
On Halloween 2004, Top Gear aired one of its all-time greatest episodes (Series 5, Episode 2), featuring a road test of Nick Mason's Enzo, and then later in the show a comparison test of sorts between a Carrera GT, an XJ220, a Pagani Zonda, a McLaren F1 (Rowan Atkinson's) and two Ferraris, Mason's Enzo and an F40. Interestingly the F40 was equipped with the "Nick Mason" rear window in the engine cover, wearing the UK license plate "F40 NPG". Here are a couple screenshots of the F40 in question... Typical roaduser's view of most any F40 Rear Window Is this another of Mason's personal Ferraris? If so, does he still have it? Any idea how many cars have the special rear window? Incidentally, a different F40 was seen last year on Top Gear, in Richard Hammond's comparison test between the F40 and the Porsche 959 (Series 16, Episode 6). That car doesn't have the "Mason" window. Icons of speed
F 40 NPG is Nick Mason's F40 and the rear window was developed by him for better rearward visibility. I'm not aware of any other F40 that has been fitted with this unit.
Im not sure if this has been mentioned here but they say that the US car has less power and more weight. I knew it has more weight but i thought Ferrari added 20hp to compensate. Isnt that correct?
This photo you posted in '09 may indicate the existence of another... http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=138742332&postcount=2765
I will admit, I have the advantage of just having engaged in my annual refresher on the USA F40 via this thread, something different seems to stand out each time.
...and it has compensated? At the facts the US car was slower. According to my research US car is not more powerful. It is powerful as the ROW cars fitted with cats converters and bit less powerful than the no cats engines.

Hi Guys and Girls, Just joined in the F40 conversation, anyway, I am the happy owner of F40 chassis 77289 and have been for the last 16 years or so. This is the first F40 to come to the British shores and it was the original Press Car, also it was displayed at British Motor Show in 1988 & 1989. In the first year of my ownership, I used it all the time and clocked up 9000 miles and loved every minute, the car never failed. At this moment, we are preparing the car for a Classiche Certification. It has never been modified or changed to this day. We are just carrying out a soft refurbishment, ie suspension joints, a general tidy up. A photo attached. Also, Nigel Mansell did drive this car and his words were ' why isn't my F40 this quick? '. Anyway, had and still have a few Ferraris including a 599GTO ( 599GTO is absolutly awsome, an F40 with power steering and brakes is the best way to descride the beast ) a 430GT2 raced and won the 24hr Silverstone in 2010 plus many other races. No other cars have the strenght or give me so much pleasure to drive and race. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice to see your f40 again, last time I took a photo of it was at the 1988 Motorshow It was the star of the show along with the original XJ220 before it was watered down for production Your car if its the one Joe mentions is also featured heavily in Mark Hughes book on the f40
