Tipo USA F40 we've sold to a happy client with locks I recorded to be numbered 281. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The rest of this red rocket, the client was offered very significant upside post-sale but I'm happy to say that as of yesterday he's not selling. Image by iPhone. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Joe I take that as not all have locks? It’s really odd but cool how these are, show the small key. We have these, like a luggage key. Somehow, not sure how, I locked this and left the key in the car as I was able to open the door I guess from the inside, close it once out and it locked! Luckily I left the other door unlocked.
The doors on all the cars should have numbered locks, the front and rear clamshells should have locks too.
The locks are essentially the same as those used on filing cabinets! which is bizarre when you see how bespoke and intricate the clam locks are. The USA version of those have an extra flip on them to get over the USA bumper over riders on the rear.
Coming to auction in August https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/mo22/monterey/lots/r0001-1992-ferrari-f40/1220094 a car we know quite well as we've sold it on the past. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I’m looking for the OEM Wool. Anyone have a source for this? I ordered some from Italy and it was much too dark. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Anyone following this F40 on BAT? This will be interesting. Approximately 26k miles. I heard some collectors are looking for cars they feel they can drive. This is one. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1990-ferrari-f40/
I looked into the car with the help of @sherpa23. Too many red flags. I'll update the thread with details. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
Oh cool, Ryans is such a cool guy, tell him we said hello! I wonder if he will be in Monaco maybe we can have a cup of coffee... https://autobahnadventures.com/driving-tours/monaco-f1-grand-prix-tour-2022-1/ We have one of similar milage, so this was one reason I am curious about this sale. We just did about 350 miles to Tail of the Dragon and back with the F40 and 348c for a potential Netflixs series that might air next year. Loads of fun driving these and at 23k don't feel really guilty about putting a few more on...and I never would have done it but Julie insisted. Man am I glad she did, brought back a bunch of memories. A lot of parts have been added to the Tree of Shame since my last visit...
Others my have a different view but in my experience the original F40 dash material isn't prone to fading. I think the material you received from Italy is a different composition, it's speckled with darker areas and some whiter fibers.
